Giovanny Masonry arrived quickly both to give an estimate and do the work. The project consisted of removing and resetting an area of depresssed stone pavers approximately 13' x 8', they completed the project as discussed for the agreed on price.
The job involved staining the deck, screwing in loose boards, and fixing two hand rails of a stairway of a deck that is roughly 980 square feet. I had also asked for the replacement of a crumbling sidewalk- roughly 175 square feet. Thomas Fredrick was fantastic. He was prompt in arriving to give the quote and pitching the price- which was very reasonable given the size of the job. He and his crew were prompt in arriving and quickly finished the deck in two days. The concrete work also took about two days- between the removal of all of the old concrete and pouring in the new foundation. All of my expectations were exceeded (which is rare for me), given the size of the job. Tom also took on the repair of one fence panel piece & replacement of a mailbox that had a broken cover. Any questions/requests that I had were quickly addressed (which rarely happens with some contractors). I am extremely satisfied and would consider TNS for future jobs and would highly recommend them to others in the area.
I contacted Mr. Lyons to shore up the sagging foundation in bathroom floor. To do that, he would have to work in the basement, which has a low clearance space, and there was some termite damage to the joists. This presented a challenge, but Mr. Lyons offered solutions to address it. He provided a contract outlining scope of work and was available to answer any of our questions or concerns. He was extremely professional and courteous and followed up with us in a reasonable timeframe. After initially choosing Mr. Lyons, who offered a very competitive fee, we opted to select another Thumbtack contractor who offered a longer guarantee of the work. I would most certainly outreach to Mr. Lyons in the future should the need arise and would strongly recommend his services. Thus far, I have been very pleased with my Thumbtack experience and its contractors. Thank you!
They were friendly, CLEAN, showed up when they said they would, completed all work on time and on budget. They met the city for final inspection, had sign off on first go around. My house is a 1932 Spanish Colonial on a raised foundation. Thanks to all who helped to pull my job together for me!
Bob came out to advise on curing a wet basement problem in our turn-of-the-last-century home. He was very knowledgeable about what we would need to do and especially how to handle installing a french drain system in a house with an ancient foundation.
His foreman estimated the job would take 4 full days, possibly 5. They got the work done in 4; it was a very large project. The crew did a great job and even suggested some additional features to incorporate into the project (at no additional cost). So far the results have been excellent.
Holiday yards did a great job repairing the outside of my concrete foundation. Very quick estimate, reasonable prices & a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend them & I'll definitely use them again in the future.
My wife and i hired Helmsley General construction for a full renovation from the foundation up. I had foundation, brick, sidewalk, railings all completed by them. everything came out better than expected. i gladly write this review, we have already referred two friends to them as well. Thanks again guys for the amazing job.
I hired Ian and the guys at Brayjam to do a basement renovation. I was worried because I found him cold on the internet (using thumbtack) but he provided references who spoke well of him and were willing to show his work so we took a chance. HIs estimate was the most fair. He was willing to work with us on some special requests and his entire operation is almost completely family operated.
The demolition went very quickly but revealed quite a bit of foundation issues. Ian knew exactly how to handle it and came up with some creative solutions. He re-mortared the brick inside and outside my house, waterproofed the foundation and put a french drain in the driveway. Now the basement is dry, finished and looks great. He even sent a professional cleaning crew on the last day to clean the basement & the first floor of my house incase any construction dust came upstairs. He's hard working and extremely honest. I recommend him enthusiastically!
Removed approximately 250sqft of asphalt/pavement to add more grass and also installed Belgian blocks as a divider. Very professional and his employees are puntual and understanding of the specific work I needed. Just hustle with him about prices and you won't regret it.
Having worked with Fine Touch Contracting over the years on projects ranging from gut rehabs to renovations undertaken to prepare apartments for new tenancies as well as exterior and interior foundation repairs to a brownstone building, I can attest to their professionalism, variety of skill sets, and reliability. Their quotes were always reasonable, their assessments "on the mark" and suggested approaches to the resolution of problems and issues that turned up most workable. The knowledge base of the principals as well of their staff is admirable. In the past, I have recommended the firm to friends and neighbors and continue to do so.
NJGCB did great work on my house, they raised it and redid the foundation since it was damaged. Mickeal was very nice and tentative to my requests and did a great job. I recommend to all my family's houses that were damaged in the hurricane.
We had a wet interior foundation problem, and Basement Systems installed a trough system in the affected rooms. After a few drenching rainstorms this last week, everything remained dry, and we are now able to renovate with no further problems
We had used the company in the past for a similar situation in another area, and are very satisfied with the response, solution, and work done for both the older and new work areas.
It is interesting that someone who knows about old homes and their history during their time periods. Our English Tutor was built in 1929 and we could not get any of the original plans to the home. Richard came in with two gentlemen with some technological equipment and somehow mapped out a the foundation and structure in 48hours. He explained how and what needed to be completed and we had our estimated pricing to complete our renovation project. We signed our contract that was within our budget and have an estimation for completion. Richard was professional, and knew the challenges of our project. Thank you Richard.
