Their price for a Nest thermostat install was way out of ballpark. They quoted $200 for a 20-30 minute install and tried to use scare tactics that the wrong hookup would break the heating/cooling in the house to justify their price. The install is very simple and mostly a DIY with a video on YouTubefrom Nest on how to do the install. I don't have good carpentry skills but for $50 I'd hire someone to do the job for me so I don't waste my time. $50 for 20-30 minutes or work would be a great deal. I'm going with someone else.Jan 22, 2019VerifiedExcalibur's reply
You requested an installation for a thermostat and you requested a quote from us. Without seeing the project we gave you a price range based on the highest possible senario. Many things can go wrong including blown fuses, relays switches, etc. This was obviously not a DIY as you requested help. It would have been helpful if you would have sent us more information or let us come out to see the work prior to assuming that our price range was not acceptable to you. Not every smart thermostat is compatible with every HVAC system. We apologize for any misunderstanding there may have been.
Very professional and on time. He explained how the work was done and what to expect. Will hire them again!Feb 26, 2019Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Based on the information provided this can be discussed. My pricing starts with labor. I want my customers involved in choosing the equipment that goes in their home.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Excalibur needs to know what the need is and we will customize our work. With smart homes its not one size fits all. We want your home to work for you.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? Our installers are certified in home automation with 20 years of experience with smart products such as security cameras and thermostats.
