My sofa was ruined by cats urine. Mike told me that there is not much that can be done to guarantee to get rid of the odor for good. He was the only one out of all the companies I contacted that was so honest with me. Great trade in sales and services industry. Thank you

The cleaner did arrive several hours later than the original appointment, but he did call to let us know, and did a good job for a reasonable price once he was there. However, the chemicals that were used to clean have a very strong odor that lingered for more than a week. If you are sensitive to strong smells you should definitely see if they can use some sort of unscented cleaner.

Joe was extremely courtesy and honest. He told me from the beginning that some of the pet stains may not come out. However he put extra effort in and went beyond and above , the end result was a carpet that looked new again and yes all the stains were gone! Thanks Joe

On time , professional and easy going. He was thorough with his job. Cleaned up some of the stains which we thought would never go. We had professionals clean last time too but it was not the same result. Will certainly have him back again in future.

I have three pets, and their hair was everywhere. Liliana and a coworker did a thorough cleaning of the entire place -- bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, living room, dining room, laundry room -- all for a reasonable price. They did a great job, and I will be using their services on a recurring basis.

We hired DaNa for their odor removal services. Thanks to them, we got a fresh smelling home along with clean walls and floors when the process was over. I appreciated that Noemi, the lady who did the cleaning, was both friendly and thorough, while Francisco was very prompt on all communication. Also, unlike other deodorizing methods I had looked into, the equipment used by DaNa did not require the use of ozone or the evacuation of the premises making it a more eco-friendly solution without the additional hassle.

We had a water stain on our sofa which I was not sure what come out. After discussing, I opted for the full shampoo and the sofa looks brand new. The guys came when they said they would and moved quickly to get the job done. And on top of that, no harsh chemical/odors in the house.

Had my carpet cleaned that had (in my opinion) two horrible kitty stains from a cat feeling out a new apartment. Although Phil was honest and realistic about the odds that there may still be some stain remnant after he finished, which was my original expectation - there wasn't. He got everything up. He's very good at what he does and I would highly recommend.

I've had a few professional cleaners try and get my pet stains and odors out of the carpet, and while they did have some success Brian with Oxyfresh was the only one so far who got the stains and odors up entirely.

First off, thank you for being out there and cleaning naturally! That definitely sets you apart! We'd like to suggest exploring our organic and natural cleaning products. They'd definitely be an excellent fit as part of your cleaning arsenal. When you have a sec, please take a quick look into Freshana Organic Solutions. http://Freshana.com Best of luck in your business and wishing you continued success! About Freshana Organic Solutions, LLC: The Finest All-Natural Cleaning Products on the Planet. FOS was established in April 2011 by world-renowned chemist Dr. Robert Bayless. With his microencapsulation process, Dr. Bayless helped in the 10 years it took scientists to develop the organic concentrate, which speeds up nature's natural process 1,000-fold. So organic and safe that the product themselves can even be drunk safely. Though the USDA and other government entities allow companies to call their products "organic" if they have only 95% organic content and 5% chemicals, Freshana does not accept that designation as being safe for consumers. Freshana is 100% ALL natural, ALL the time, in ALL circumstances giving you 100% peace of mind. Our goal is to make the world a safer, cleaner place. No longer do you have to give up quality for safe cleaning. In other words, our Air Purifier & Cleaning Products work as well or BETTER than poison products. Other major manufacturers of “odor eliminators” design products that don’t actually “eliminate”; they simply “mask” odors, propagating the environment with harsh chemicals and a strong “replacement” scent that is intended to only "disguise" the hydrocarbon odor. By only masking, these products infuse the environment with chemicals that can be harmful to people and pets or instigate a very strong allergic reaction. Freshana products were designed specifically to correct this wrong, by using an ingenious and complex blend of natural ingredients and a state of the art microencapsulation process in a patented formula to eliminate the hydrocarbon odors and messes naturally and almost instantly.

The team was on time and steam-cleaned the carpet as advertised. Also, they did a light-duty mold remediation as part of the final deodorizing step, as they detected the mold odor, but it wasn't really effective -- the odor didn't go away. I used the stain remover/deodorizer from Euro-Pro (Shark) and it did the job. Maybe it wasn't mold after all.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

      What is upholstery cleaning?

From your carpets to your drapes to your furniture, all fabrics need to be cleaned. Cleaning upholstery, or the fabric on your furniture, removes the dirt and oils that are transferred to couches and chairs through regular use. Because furniture upholstery can be delicate and colors can fade easily, it’s often a good idea to let professional sofa cleaners handle the job. They’ll determine the type of fabric — usually cotton, linen, wool, suede or microfiber — and the appropriate method for cleaning it, either steam-cleaning or applying a dry-cleaning solvent. In general, cleaning an entire piece of furniture includes a pretreatment, cleaning, and neutralizing rinse to the body, plus removing and cleaning all cushions and cleaning all crevices.

An upholstery cleaner may clean the entire piece of furniture, on a regular schedule or by request, or do spot treatments to remove pet, food, drink, or oil and grease stains. Furniture can also be deodorized to remove the smell of pets or tobacco smoke. Furniture that’s used often, like that in your family room, should be cleaned once a year to keep it fresh and extend its life. Sofa cleaners often also offer repair services to mend tears in fabric or patch holes in leather.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

      Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.

      Who cleans couches?

Even if your furniture doesn’t appear dirty or stained, your couches are collecting just as much dust, pollen, germs, pet hair and dander, and even food crumbs as your carpets. In general, the same professionals who clean your carpets and drapes can also clean your couches. Carpet cleaners usually offer upholstery cleaning services as well, and may offer a discount if you have your carpets cleaned at the same time. Alternatively, you can choose from a range of professional upholstery cleaners in your area who specialize in cleaning different types of upholstery fabrics, including delicate antique fabrics and other hard-to-clean materials such as suede. In addition to deep-cleaning the entire piece of furniture, sofa cleaners can spot-treat food, pet, and oil and grease stains. Most professionals also offer services to sanitize and deodorize your furniture and apply protectants to prevent future stains. As with carpets, experts recommend that you have your upholstered furniture cleaned once every year or two, depending on how much use it gets and whether you have children and pets.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
