To be resolved in court, all of the issues involved in divorce and separation (child support, child custody and visitation, division of assets and liabilities, spousal support, etc.) take time and sometimes great expense. Most divorces are settled without a trial. However, the litigation usually required to get to settlement is expensive and time consuming. Divorce mediation enables the parties to control the process. The mediator facilitates the parties in addressing all of the divorce issues. Where appropriate, the mediator may suggest that the parties also use other experts' services in addressing specific issues.
