I'm a 29 year old male with 15 years of experience on bass guitar and was looking to enhance my singing chops. I took lessons under Gwin for several months and she definitely helped me improve my ability to sing! She noticed my strengths and weaknesses and brought it to my attention that I had a singing register that was more than I had initially expected. She also showed me how to use diaphragmatic breathing to sing the right way. I'd recommend Gwin to anyone from beginner to advanced to improve your ability to sing.
I briefly took guitar lessons from Josh. I wanted to learn to play with other musicians and improvise, and his jazz background is what caught my attention. The sessions were informative and Josh was very encouraging. I had to stop unexpectedly but what I learned in the few lessons I took was very helpful and got me out of the rut I fall into while practicing on my own.
These are guitar lessons and I've only had my first one. As first lessons go, this went well, though I have no other experiences to compare it with. This is a premature question and in no way reflects any overall opinion of Twin Rivers music.
Taylor makes taking guitar lessons fun rather than feel like work. I get to choose what I want to learn at my own pace
Antonio taught me formal electric bass lessons from 2003 - 2006 at Studio 63 in East Brunswick, New Jersey. He provided me with an incredible musical foundation to build upon my own strengths as a musician. Antonio has an excellent ability to sense a student's needs and effortlessly blend them into the lesson at hand; whether it be theory, rudiments, or a song of the student's choosing. To this day I still apply many of the fundamentals that I learned under his instruction. He is a teacher who cares for his students and is truly passionate about music, and it reflects in his lessons.
David Joel is the guitar teacher that you have been looking for! Musical experience, wisdom, and expertise are just a few of the things you should expect when you start lessons here. My experience with other guitar teachers was always that they were more interested in making rocking guitarists who could play some nice licks but never really knew why what they were playing sounded good or how it fit into the larger musical spectrum. David will not only make you improve as a guitarist, but he will help you see the bigger picture, making sure you have a solid foundation of musical knowledge and expertise before learning more advanced techniques and theory. The result is a guitarist who can play those amazing licks and riffs incredibly proficiently, but also understands why what they are playing sounds great! It truly is the best way to learn to play, and guitarists from beginners to experts can learn a lot from David's teachings.
I've been working on improving and refreshing my guitar skills with Brian a little over six months now. At first, I didn't really know what to expect since I haven't picked up music in over 15 years. What I liked about Brian is that he was able to customize my lessons to my level. I wasn't a true beginner, but I also wasn't advanced in guitar. He was able to test and adjust his lessons to match my skill level . So far, he has helped me improve in sight reading, finger style techniques, and develop a repertoire of several classical songs. In addition, we've explored Blues and Jazz and scales /accompaniment chords to i for solo guitar improvisations. I love working with Brian and tapping into his vast knowledge of musical styles and techniques. He is flexible and can change the course of a lesson on a dime. Some weeks we strictly work on technique, which is important. He's also a stickler for correct technique and will point out error in form if necessary. My favorite thing about working with Brian is that he is the first instructor (and I've had many) that focuses on developing style and musicality. Many instructors will move a student along when they learn how to play a song..but completely dismiss the importance of performing a piece with musicality in mind. I whole heartedly endorse and recommend Brian as a music / guitar instructor. Don't look further!
I am a busy business owner with limited time to explore my creative side. Knowing this, I wanted to take up acoustic guitar lessons, but needed to connect with someone with the right balance of push and patience. I was fortunate to find Paul. He is very passionate about music, and that comes through in our lessons. I'm learning, having fun, and through Paul have found a new outlet for my creative side. Thank you Paul!
Excellent teacher. Very patient with my son who is a beginner. Unlike most teachers and classes I looked into that offer 1/2 hour lessons, Scott’s lessons are 1 hour or a bit longer each week.
While I live in the Washington, D.C. area and normally take weekly guitar lessons there, when I'm in the Bucks County area I always try to schedule a guitar lesson with Lee. He is an accomplished musician and a terrific teacher. He is focused on the music and attentive to subtle details. He often offers practical, and sometimes unique, ideas for working on skills and techniques that need improvement. I always feel that my lessons with Lee are very productive!!!
Daniel is a patient fun teacher! My daughter is 7 and asks a lot of questions, Daniel always make time to answer them and gives her encouragement and praise. He is very knowledgable and has given us great advice for the best guitar to purchase. He breaks down each of the lessons in to small chunks which makes it easy for her to remember and practise!
I am going on my second month of guitar lessons as a beginner. In this short period of time I have learned so much from Lou about playing guitar. When I started I did not even know how to read the notes. Now I do, Lou is always courteous, fun, and very informative. He goes above and beyond as an instructor. He is patient and teaches at the appropriate level without rushing. He always offers to answer questions if needed during the week in between the lessons. He is very talented and it is so apparent that he loves what he does. Lou is an outstanding instructor and I would proudly recommend him to others looking to learn to play the guitar.
I started taking guitar lessons as a beginner a few months ago and am totally happy. Billy has given me a combination of the basics and is also gearing me towards what I want to learn, rock and metal. His explanations are clear and I come away with great notes to help me practice. I really feel like I'm coming along and that makes me excited to keep at it. Most of all, he makes learning guitar fun! Highly recommend!
I have always wanted to learn to play the guitar and finally had the time to do. Zachary was super patient with a beginner such as myself and truly made my lessons fun!
Paul was an excellent teacher for my beginner guitarist. He was patient, informative and true has a love of music. He taught my son how to read music and gave him a great foundation. I highly recommend him as a teacher!
Ralph is a patient instructor who tailors his instruction to my personal needs, all the while giving me a better understanding of music & the guitar. This helped me learn more quickly, as well as enabling me to pick up things on my own.
Absolutely fantastic. Bobby is such a gentleman and he's very patient. He's great for beginners and has lots of previous experience. I will be recommending him to everyone I know who's interested in learning!
I have been working with Gordon for almost 7 years now. He has taken my guitar playing to new heights. As a guitarist, I am now able to improvise proficiently based on Gordon's ability to efficiently teach improvisation. Recently Gordon taught me the basic elements of Jazz, a genre of music that I was not comfortable playing. However I was motivated to audition for my high school's Jazz Band, and with Gordon's help, I got the spot of guitarist for my junior and senior years of high school. When Gordon voiced that I was at the level where I could begin to teach beginner guitar lessons, I was a bit reluctant and uncomfortable. However Gordon kept pushing me to pursue teaching, because he believes in my ability to show the guitar to others the way he showed it to me. As of now I have four initial students that are starting up lessons this summer. I would never be in the position to teach without Gordon's positive encouragement and help. When I leave for college not only will I be leaving the lessons of a wonderful guitar teacher. I will be leaving the weekly visits of a lifelong friend. Thanks to Gordon Johnson, guitar will serve as an interest for the rest of my life.
I feel like I'm picking up how to play the guitar quickly as a beginner
I wanted to work on some acoustic fills between chords. Zack was able to crasp what I wanted and showed me some exercises to work on. He also wrote it down so I won't forget when I come back to it.
My name is Tom. I'm 24, and I have 11 years of music and guitar teaching experience.
