I briefly took guitar lessons from Josh. I wanted to learn to play with other musicians and improvise, and his jazz background is what caught my attention. The sessions were informative and Josh was very encouraging. I had to stop unexpectedly but what I learned in the few lessons I took was very helpful and got me out of the rut I fall into while practicing on my own.
Ms. Gwin is excellent and my daughter and I are happy and very fortunate to have found her for piano lessons. From day 1, she has been very accommodating, knowledgeable and passionate, which is reflected through her teaching. My daughter is only 4 years old and Ms. Gwin was able to creatively adapt concepts to meet her current level of understanding. With just 2 months of instruction, meeting once per week for 30 minutes, my daughter has already mastered playing "Mary Had a Little Lamb", as well as, some piano theory. My daughter looks forward to her weekly sessions and I am very pleased with the talent that she is so quickly developing.
Eric Matelyan is a great guitar player and a talented and skilled instructor. His attention to technique development has helped me already in just a few lessons.
Conor has been a great guitar teacher for me and my playing has improved a lot by working with him so far!
I`ve been taking guitar lessons from Steve for seven weeks now and I find him to be a GREAT teacher and very knowledgeable on everything when it comes to anything related to music. If you want to know anything about a particular instrument or Amp or anything related to music Steve can guide you. I`m an older student and mentally handicapped sometimes ;) and he`s very patient with me. I give him 5 stars and would recommend to him to anyone.
Buck has been giving lessons to my sons for years and we are very happy with him as a teacher. He is extremely knowledgeable in both bass and guitar. His knowledge of musical theory as well as a broad spectrum of types of music is also very impressive. He's always able to find something that my sons are interested in learning, and he is very patient with both young students as well as new students. I would highly recommend him to anyone with no reservations whatsoever.
Very much appreciated his personable character and willingness to inform me on as much as he knew about electric guitar. Very much looking forward to working with him moving forward!
So far Bob is a great teacher. He was easy to talk to and enhanced my enthusiasm to play guitar. I've only had one lesson so it's a bit too early to tell, but the whole process from start to finish and the friendliness of the staff is superb.
I am a busy business owner with limited time to explore my creative side. Knowing this, I wanted to take up acoustic guitar lessons, but needed to connect with someone with the right balance of push and patience. I was fortunate to find Paul. He is very passionate about music, and that comes through in our lessons. I'm learning, having fun, and through Paul have found a new outlet for my creative side. Thank you Paul!
I appreciate that Dan has the flexibility and commitment to take me on as a student. It's easier for me to commit when he can do home-visits for lessons. I'm a beginner and he provides an appropriate level of guidance to push me to learn and prompt me to think "who I want to be" when playing guitar (style, future goals, etc). Seeing progress motivates me to keep practicing and trusting the process!
This is definitely the place to come for top music instruction. As a drummer, Joe has taught me so much and is continuing to teach me more and more during each lesson. In Joe's studio; he's got sound activated lights, smoke and bubble machines, you can play along to RockBand (which is my favorite). For Joe, the sky is the limit. Always thinking of ways for his students to exceed their expectations of music instruction. I've been a student of Joe's for 10 years and he's always having new ideas to make his lesson more enjoyable. Joe's staff is always full of energy! His staff are dedicated to their students and is a lot of fun to jam out with them. The receptionist is great to get along with always helping the students rearrange their lesson to what better suits the student. Joe's one of a kind showcase is always put together with flawless detail! Reasonable rates. But, this is definitely the place to come to for top music instruction; for all ages!! Keep on Jammin' !!!
This lesson was awesome! The instructor Mike was very friendly & professional. He taught at a comfortable pace. He watched as I played & gave feedback. He makes learning the guitar fun. I left knowing how to play a VERY popular song☺ I can't wait to do some of my homework & get to the next lesson. I highly recommend Mike for any beginners like myself!
My teenage son has been enjoying Danton's classical guitar teaching for the past two years. In this time, he has greatly matured in his playing skills and understanding of music theory. Danton challenges his students in creative and fun ways, making lessons a pleasure. He includes the student in selecting music, being sure to advance the student's skill level without overwhelm the student. He is professional, engaging, and friendly. Additionally, his ability to come to my home for lessons saves me time each week. Certainly, he is a very talented musician whom I eagerly recommend for all styles of piano or guitar instruction.
I went to Debra for voice lessons, she is an amazing teacher. She really helped me grasp concepts and helped me improve my vocal performance in a way I never imagined. She is a great teacher and I reccomend her for anyone looking to serisiosly improve their singing ability.
Jed instructed me in guitar and voice lessons. Jed is a great teacher - I learned a lot from him and he helped me to understand the parts of music that were confusing to me before. I appreciated his encouraging, laid back demeanor. He was never late to a lesson and was very accommodating with his schedule. He is extremely knowledgable of his field and I would recommend him to anyone!
Whatever your level of experience, if you really want to learn how to play guitar or bass, The Guitar And Bass Academy Of Jackson is the only choice. Gifted player / Veteran instructor (and all-around cool guy) Aaron Leone is not only readily equipped with a wealth of skill / technical knowledge to impart (to a willing bass novice like me), he also has the rare and special intuitive talent of meeting you on your level , whatever be that level, and communicating/simplifying challenging musical concepts / techniques in ways that assure you'll soon find yourself amazed at the concrete, measurable development of your mental/manual coordination, knowledge of the instrument, retention and overall skill. I'd taken bass lessons with a few different teachers in the area; all but one of them were technically good players; all of them fell abysmally short in ability to communicate the material in ways that could be readily absorbed. That ended the day I sat down and played a few strings with Aaron Leone... I can't say enough good things about this guy Aaron and what he's doing at the Jackson Guitar / Bass Academy, Doesn't matter how young (or old) you are, if you really want to learn to play , this is it!! Five stars ***** ~ Anthony, Jackson NJ
Having taken guitar lessons under Sharon Hood for 6 years I can proudly assert she is one of the most knowledgeable, capable, and friendly music teachers I've had the pleasure of learning from. Throughout my years with Sharon I went from 0 experience with guitar to playing paid performances in the community as well as substitute teaching for her in a jam. She has taught myself, my younger brother (piano), as well as my younger cousins and friend, and she seriously works wonders, especially with children! If you're looking for someone who not only knows their stuff, but is willing to take the time to get to know you and make sure you are learning to the best of your ability, look no further than Sharon Hood Music Studio.
I feel like I'm picking up how to play the guitar quickly as a beginner
David Joel has helped me immensely improve in my ability to play the guitar. Before starting lessons with him I had over 6 years experience playing the guitar, including 2 years of beginner lessons. During that time I relied heavily on guitar tabs and what I could find on the internet. I came to David with decent technique but something was definitely lacking in my playing. David helped me figure out what I was missing and helped me get to a level of playing I never thought I could reach. It wasn't easy as he had me going back to the basics. I learned how to read sheet music, how to keep a better tempo, and the music theory behind it all. It has been about 2 years now with David and I am continually learning and improving. Overall my experience with David has been thoroughly enjoyable and I would recommend his services to anyone, whether they are new to the guitar or have been playing for years.
As a beginner-level guitar player and singer, I couldn't speak more highly of Taylor as a teacher. I've been doing lessons with him for almost 2 years now and have improved from complete beginner to recording songs! With his help, I've not only learned how to play songs on a guitar, but he has also taught me how to sing with the correct breathing and increased my range. One of the biggest benefits is that he has a home recording studio - not only is it cool to have my own recording, but it helps me learn to be able to listen to myself. Taylor's teaching style is very engaging and enthusiastic, plus he's patient with my musical inexperience. He teaches me songs I want to learn as well as unique guitar and singing skills. I would highly recommend Taylor to any aspiring musician who wants to have fun lessons while also improving drastically.
I had just started guitar and was clueless about how to begin learning as an adult. Max was a great teacher, offering advice on everything from how to tune the guitar to playing chord progressions. Before the lessons, Max asked me to send him some songs I wanted to learn; Max learned them and used them as a framework for the lessons, making the instruction practical and fun. Moreover, whenever a music theory concept came up, he explained it in an intuitive way, which I really appreciated. The environment was constructive and relaxed, and I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to guitar.
