Bill and his team were able to come out on short notice to help fix a tile and plumbing issue in my bathroom. They were on time, professional and completed the job above my expectations. I have already hired them back to install drywall in my kitchen. Great company to work with.

I found Thomas and his son to be both friendly and professional. They arrived on-time and ready to work, as scheduled. Thomas took pictures of the work they did on the gutters (reinforced installation, sealed gutters, and installed gutter screens). In addition, he checked the roof and took pictures of that, as well. When he came down, Thomas physically showed me the damage and gave me my options. They were very fair and reasonable. I was so impressed with all aspects of their work, I've scheduled them to come back next week and do my roof. Two of my neighbors liked what they saw and hired them too. I would highly recommend their business based upon my First-Hand Experience - in addition to what I've read about them, to date. Thanks Very Much and Continued Success To You Both!

They were awesome, from the first meeting with the salesman to final installation. The salesman was very knowledgeable, he answered all my questions and gave me multiple options to chose from. It was nice being happy with the choices I made. Then the customer service people were great. I have a very difficult schedule and they worked with me. The installers were on time and very quick and did quality work. They cleaned up excellently and even dealt with my crazy dog. I had a new roof installed, siding, soffit, windows and doors replaced. They were so great to deal and quality products that I used then three times. The roof siding, soffit, and three windows, then 9 windows then the windows were so good , I also replaced 9 more that were only 10 years old. The price was very affordable considering all the estimates I got. I recommend them 100%.

It is my pleasure to recommend the excellent work of Rick Doggett who was the general contractor for a remodeling project of my apartment in Jersey City. From the initial interaction and proposal phase through construction and the timely completion of the job, Rick and his crew performed at the highest level of professionalism, work ethics, and dedication. The work involved a complete re-structure of the internal floor plan, moving walls, installing new fixtures, hardwood floor and carpet, electrical, plumbing, and painting, while communicating with an owner who was not on location. I would, with no hesitation, engage Rick in any future construction or remodeling that will come-up. Thank you Rick and crew for a wonderful job.

Gilbert and his crew came in like a small army. They started my roof at 7:30 and the entire job was done by 4 pm. This included removal of the old roof and installation of new plywood in a few areas. They cleaned up afterwards and left my yard in even better shape than when they arrived. I also could not find a better price for my new roof. I can't think of anything they could improve upon. Just top notch in every way.

Vincent and his team did a great job on replacing 2 flat roofs for me. What i like was the details, we went on the roof together as he explained what work they were going to do in removing and replacing the roof. He also explained in detail the material, technique and process they would use. He always followed up to my emails, texts, and phone calls. He gave me a great price and outstanding AAA+ WORK & SERVICE! I had a couple other estimates but they did not take the time and service like Diamond Restoration and Roofing, this is what set them apart from the rest, actually listening and addressing all my questions and concerns. He also sent me pictures with updates or if things needed to be addressed he would let me know of other issues in need of repair. They went above and beyond and exceeding my expectations! Thank you Diamond Restoration!

Michal replaced the door from my garage to the inside of our kitchen due to the old door warping and sagging. He was extremely accommodating offering to start early in the morning and provide the new door (purchased ahead of time requiring no deposit). He went above and beyond during his installation, including trim, shims, a new door knob (which he had to come back to do the next day) spray foam and about 6 hours of labor. My new door is level, does not let in any heat from my garage (not ventilated) and opens and closes with ease! I am 100 percent satisfied and he is worth every dollar... you will not be disappointed by his craftsmanship.

Choosing SoalrME to install solar on our home was one of the best decisions we made. We met with several other companies who told us that we could fit 3 rows of panels on our roof. This was the only company who actually measured our roof and said that 3 rows physically would not fit which I couldn't believe. I climbed on the roof to measure myself and verified this to be true. From this point on, I knew these guys were top notch. We also liked that they used SunPower panels. Our system has been producing noticeably more than what was estimated which is fantastic! SolarME made the whole process so easy. They did all the paper work, their designs were extremely detailed and they installed conduits and everything exactly how we wanted it. Everyone who came to the house was courteous and professional. They really went out of their way to make sure everything was installed perfectly. I'd highly recommend SolarME. You won't be disappointed! They have definitely went above and beyond what I was expecting. Thank you!!

My wife and I were so satisfied with thier work, we brought them back to teplace our flat roof. Again leaving us completely satisfied. I would recommend Dennis and the New Creation team in a heartbeat!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a standing seam metal roof?

A standing seam metal roof may be a strong, durable, safe choice when you’re considering metal roofing installation options. A standing seam refers to the raised seam where the sheet metal roofing panels join. Traditionally, shingles and roof panels lie flush to the roof, making them more prone to rust or penetration by water at their seams. In a standing seam metal roof, the raised (or standing) seams run vertically from the roof ridge to the eaves, with no horizontal seams. In addition, the fasteners joining the metal panels together are concealed, providing even fewer opportunities for water or moisture to build up. The cost to install a standing seam metal roof will depend on the type of metal you select, the size of your roof, and the cost of roofing labor in your region. Materials will play a major role in your metal roofing installation costs. If you select standard galvanized steel, the cost per square (100 square feet) might be in the $150-$300 range, while a high-end choice such as copper or zinc could be between $1,000 and $1,500 per square. Here is one example of cost:

  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.

Can a metal roof be installed over shingles?

Metal roofs are durable, environmentally friendly, safe and budget-friendly. If you’re considering an update, metal roofing installation doesn’t have to mean completely removing your old roof. In many cases, metal roofing can be installed over your existing shingles. Research building codes in your state, as many require that after two roofs have been installed, all roofing materials must be completely removed before a third roof can be put on. This protects your home’s structural integrity and your family’s safety. Carefully read contractor reviews and choose someone with extensive experience with metal roofing installation. One concern when installing metal over shingles is that over time, condensation can build on the shingles and cause the metal to rust. This will lead to rust around the panels, making them more likely to come loose in a storm. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000. The wide price range represents different roof sizes, different types of metal, and the cost of labor in different parts of the country — and can also include the cost of removing an old shingle roof prior to installing the metal. As a line item, the average cost of removing an old roof to prepare for installing a new roof, plus adding new roof decking, costs on average about $45-$75 per square (the pro roofer’s term for 100 square feet), depending on the pitch of the roof. Always make sure you have a clearly written contract and a warranty on both the labor and the metal.

How much does it cost for a metal roof?

Metal roofing installation is an attractive option thanks to metal’s long lifespan, hardiness and fire-retardant properties. Nationally, the average cost for metal roofing installation ranges from $6,000 to $20,000.There are different types of metal roofs, each with their own installation needs and materials costs. Roof size also affects your metal roofing installation costs, as do regional labor rates. Roof size is measured in squares; one square equals 100 square feet. Here are some examples of the average cost for a metal roof:

  • Standard metal roof: $120-$150 per square to start, including materials and labor
    • A 30-square roof (a 3,000-square-foot roof) could cost between $3,600 and $4,500 for a typical three-bedroom home.
  • Snap-Loc metal roof: $200-$225 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $6,000-$6,750.
  • Standing seam metal roof: $300 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000 or more.
  • Tuff-Rib metal roof: $250-$350 per square to start, including materials and labor.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $7,500-$10,500.
  • Mid-range metal roof package, including all accessories: $300-$500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $9,000-$15,000.
  • High-end metal roof package — such as zinc or copper — and all accessories: $1,000-$1,500 per square.
    • A 30-square roof could cost $30,000-$45,000.
