I've been taking voice lessons with Dave for almost a year now, and it's one of the best decisions I've made. I've loved singing my entire life, but I've always felt like I wasn't good enough. It turns out I just needed to tweak my technique. I've definitely improved immensely over the past year, and others (including professional singers) have noticed and complimented me on it as well when I've sang at gigs. I've learned effective warm up techniques, how to control my voice, how my posture and mouth placement are important for my vocals as well, and so much more. He's also very encouraging and patient. I definitely wouldn't sound the way I do today without him. He's given me the confidence to look into performing more in this new year. I'm more motivated than ever to see where my voice can take me and very excited to continue working with him. I was also lucky enough to record a song with him and was able to see what an amazing producer he is as well! Anyone looking for a great, knowledgeable, experienced vocal instructor and producer; look no further! Dave's your man!
When I was fifteen years old my father passed away after an extended battle with stomach cancer. After this I began writing words that people told me were lyrics, but I was no singer. I had a hero that was a singer, a heavy metal singer named Rob Halford, but the crazy notes he hit, and the incredible way he used his voice seemed unattainable to me. As I went through H.S. aided by my friends, a friend of mine named Elsa was taking voice lessons with a teacher in our town of Caldwell, and since she saw me in Choir, and knew of my love of music, suggested her teacher to me. I have been a heavy metal singer for 27 years now, and though I am not a famous person by any stretch of the imagination, nor do I sing in any way similar to Mr. Halford, I owe my longevity, my knowledge, and the respect of my peers to Rae De La Cretaz. Rae did not just teach me how to sing, she taught me how to connect my voice to myself, and considering the emotion that was collected inside me, once I learned how to do that, I was able to realize things about myself I never thought were possible. When I found her again through her online presence some 25 years later and I all the way across the country the only thing I could think to say was thank you. If you're looking for a voice teacher, she is the best, but if your looking for a way to connect your voice to your person, and who you are as a human being, if you look any further you are making a grave mistake. Chloe is a very professional and authentic person. She truly wants the best for her students and adapts well to needs each student. When I first started studying with Chloe 18 months ago, she took time to learn my voice and capabilities. In doing so, she created a trust from which she could genuinely push me to excellence, identify habits that needed improvement, and expose qualities and colors that had not been explored in my voice. She is always positive and pushing me to be the best vocalist I can be. It's a true pleasure to work with her and I can tell she gets real joy from watching her students progress and succeed. There is nothing better than singing well and watching her light up when what we've been working for is achieved. She is an excellent choice for a teacher and coach.
I'm so happy to have found Gwin!.. As soon as we walked in, Gwin went straight into the voice lessons which I really liked, no waste of time!.. Gwin made my daughter and I feel really comfortable.. And Gwin CAN sing! Looking forward to see what great things my daughter and Gwin will create 😃
Great teacher, makes you feel very comfortable. I would def recommend her to anyone looking to try voice lessons...
This guy knows what he's doing. Not just professional, but also courteous, Marty is the best by far. He has an acutely trained ear and takes your training seriously, but will joke around with you for five minutes to loosen you up when you're nervous. I've been taking piano and voice lessons on a whim and have learned more than I'd expected; after twenty-two years singing in the car, Marty helped me finally find my singing voice in two lessons. I can read music now. He teaches music theory with whatever you're learning to build a greater understanding of what you're doing and music in general.
Four months ago, I became Arturo's student and he has literally transformed my voice in the most positive way. Not only does he have incredible detailed knowledge about the anatomical and technical aspects of the voice, but he also deeply understands the psychology of the vocal student. After previous disappointing experiences with other voice teachers, I felt that improvement was impossible. However, under Arturo's instruction my voice has improved well beyond my expectations. He's a phenomenal teacher and I plan on continuing to study with him indefinitely.
Have been taking singing lessons for a month so far and it is so much fun. I always leave with a smile on my face and progressively getting better week by week. Rosalind is a great teacher, very enthusiastic and has been amazing. Looking forward to my next lesson!!
As a beginner-level guitar player and singer, I couldn't speak more highly of Taylor as a teacher. I've been doing lessons with him for almost 2 years now and have improved from complete beginner to recording songs! With his help, I've not only learned how to play songs on a guitar, but he has also taught me how to sing with the correct breathing and increased my range. One of the biggest benefits is that he has a home recording studio - not only is it cool to have my own recording, but it helps me learn to be able to listen to myself. Taylor's teaching style is very engaging and enthusiastic, plus he's patient with my musical inexperience. He teaches me songs I want to learn as well as unique guitar and singing skills. I would highly recommend Taylor to any aspiring musician who wants to have fun lessons while also improving drastically.
All I have to say is that Cecil is an awesome trainer. I've learned things about my voice I never knew existed. I'm only on my third lesson but he is definitely the biggest bang for the buck. Actually, I think he under charges. But who am I to complain.
Katie is my daughter's favorite teacher. I've never seen my child come back unhappy from one of her lessons. She is always encouraging, has the most positive teaching philosophy, and is always encouraging my daughter to take risks and perform. With Katie's support and guidance, my daughter has participated in several vocal competitions, and is blossoming into a beautiful singer. With love, Katie was able to open up my child's desire to learn and take the extra step to excel.

Jed instructed me in guitar and voice lessons. Jed is a great teacher - I learned a lot from him and he helped me to understand the parts of music that were confusing to me before. I appreciated his encouraging, laid back demeanor. He was never late to a lesson and was very accommodating with his schedule. He is extremely knowledgable of his field and I would recommend him to anyone!
We have been students of the Piano Workshop for 7 years. Mark, the director, does a great job at matching students with teachers and is very accommodating to work with scheduling lessons especially with families that have very full schedules. We enjoy the recordings done at every recital and they make a good teaching tool as well. There are lots of teachers of various disciplines so students of all musical talents can benefit at the Piano Workshop. It's a professionally run outfit that I would recommend to all families.
Alize is an amazing singer, but also a fantastic and passionate teacher! I've loved my lessons with her at the Curtis Institute. She was very patient and always looking for fun ways to help me improve.
Tom worked with three of my children, ages 7-13. His experience both in voice and in piano were a perfect combination for the musical needs of our children. Tom was also great at helping them pursue composition, finding unique ways and connections to inspire their creativity. He's professional, fun, flexible and good with kids.
Nikki is great to work with and I find her experience very effective for voice training.
My niece has attended piano and voice lessons with Maja Lisa for 2 years and we will continue to do so. Maja Lisa keeps things fun and interesting while they are learning. For the voice portion of the lesson she uses games to exercise the vocal cords such as the "color game" and the "yummy food game". My niece probably doesn't realize but sometimes she even does those exercises at home. Maja Lisa lets her sing any song she wants and works with her to practice ways to better the song. She is very patient and caring when it comes to the piano lessons and always willing to answer questions. I have found on my side of things that when I need to reschedule a lesson Maja Lisa is always accommodating and professional. I would highly recommend Maja Lisa Voice Studio to anyone looking for a charming and personable teacher.
I went to Debra for voice lessons, she is an amazing teacher. She really helped me grasp concepts and helped me improve my vocal performance in a way I never imagined. She is a great teacher and I reccomend her for anyone looking to serisiosly improve their singing ability.
Siobhan’s awesome! She’s the real deal. Knowledgeable in her craft, and easy to work with. She based our initial lesson around what my expectations and desires as a singer are . She listened to where I am and is working to expound on that. I absolutely found improvement in my vocal ab
All of my children have taken music lessons here- they’ve learned new instruments and continue to play.
