FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have an Initial Consult lesson that is an hour and a half for all new private clients. We get to know each other, talk about your goals for your dog and training in general, and then we get to work!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I regularly go to seminars and conferences to stay up to date with the latest techniques, as well as reading books and watching videos by other professionals. I am also a member of several professional organizations, most notably the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT), that make resources for continuing education available.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been involved in the dog fancy since the age of 7 showing my Labs in Conformation, Junior Showmanship, and Obedience. Since then I have been involved in many aspects of the pet care industry (boarding, grooming, daycare, pet supply store, assisting professional handlers, etc.) but training dogs has always been my passion. Teaching people how to more effectively communicate with their dogs is a great joy.
