Jeremy is an excellent teacher and can help you improve in any subject! He is fantastic with test prep such as the Algebra Regents where I scored over a 90 and with final exams. He also helped me with all of my study skills which has made a big difference with my time management. He simplifies everything, makes our lessons fun, and creates a plan for each week. I highly recommend using Jeremy to help you with all areas of your academic and test prep work!
Raul was timely and very polite and welcoming. I instantly felt comfortable and eager to learn. He's very fluent in Spanish and English and also very knowledgeable in both languages. The best thing is that it's not about the money for him..teaching is his passion and he loves to help others. I learned so much in so little time. He's legit. No puedo esperar hasta la proxima!!
My fiance and I came in for beginner dance classes with Priti for our wedding ceremony. We both enjoy music but had zero formal dancing experience, so this was naturally a bit out there for us. Right off the bat, Priti was really great at understanding our vision and what we we're looking for in our first dance. She was able to teach us basics around ramba, salsa, and swing, which we're all incorporated into our dance routine. As beginners, learning the basics prior to learning different routine executions made putting everything together much easier in the grand scheme of things. Each lesson, she worked with us on improvements and made sure to adjust the dance accordingly based on our feedback/hesitations across particular areas. Overall, it was a very calming experience that left us very well prepared for our wedding. We are very happy with the service we received from Priti and received amazing feedback from our friends and family on our performance. We would 100% recommend her for anyone looking to work with someone reassuring, patient, and very knowledgeable in her craft. Thanks Priti!!
I took English lessons with Maura for 6 months. During the classes, we put the emphasis on conversation. We talked about a large number of topics : Politics, Society, day to day life... It gave me much more confidence in my relations with English speakers and, coming from a European country, it also helped me to understand better the American culture. Maura is open, friendly, she makes you feel at ease and she enjoys teaching ESL.
I have been working with Jim on preparing for the SAT and ACT tests since August 2013. For the first couple of months, Jim and I had our sessions on the Upper West Side. As I have to take the GW Bridge to get to Manhattan, I sometimes ran into traffic related problems that prevented me from getting to the city on time to meet him. Jim was very understanding of this, and suggested that we have our lessons on Skype instead. He is very flexible as far as scheduling, which is very convenient for a Junior with a hectic schedule. After taking a practice test, Jim and I went over the questions that I missed. I read the questions out loud because he did not have a copy of the test booklet. I actually wasn't surprised that he was able to tell me all of the correct answers because he has been teaching me all kinds of fool-proof strategies to find the right answer. Jim has helped me raise my composite ACT score by 7 points. Additionally, he has been helping me tremendously throughout this college process. Overall, Jim is a pleasure to work with as he is honest, smart, and encouraging.
Lenore is so professional, she is helping me to improve my English pronunciation, she takes time to explain to me every doubt I have. She has experience in teaching. I recommend to anyone for her methods.
Robert teaches Italian lessons. I am a terrible student frequently confusing my High School French with what Robert patiently teaches me. He is good humored, well prepared and pushes me along just enough. I am never frustrated but always encouraged. Robert always is smiling and I never feel silly with my pronunciation. Robert really is a great teacher. I wish I had met him years ago before my first trip to Italy. I look forward to my lessons all week. Bravo Robert!!!!
Humberto is a terrific teacher, and a wonderful person. He customized his lessons to fit my abilities and needs, and I have made a tremendous amount of progress on my Spanish since I've been taking lessons with him. I recommend him without reservation!!
My daughter is extremely happy with their lessons and improving her English In very impressive way
I feel so lucky to have found Katya to tutor me. Katya took ample time to discuss my language goals. It is great that she is working with me one-on-one to tailor the tutoring sessions to meet my needs. Not only is her comprehension of the finer points of English excellent, but she is also able to explain pronunciations clearly. She cares about the progress of her students and she assigns custom-tailored homework. On top of that, she’s also very knowledgeable about the language and about language theory. Highly recommend!
Bina is a great professional. She has vast knowledge about grammar and teaching techniques. She was able to tailor each lesson to focus on my specific needs. Additionally, Bina shared supplementary material after each lesson that helped review the topics we covered. I had a great time working with her!
I like my ESL lessons with Marion. She taught me not only the language but also the American culture, which I'm very interested in. Besides that, she is such a nice person that talking with her is always enjoyable.
I've been Paul's student for 8 months and I want share the great experience of learning English from him. He has good sense of humor. It is very important factor when you choose the tutor as repeated English class can become boring. His class is different from others in that he would like to help the student to be adjusted to American culture. It was very helpful when he explains the American way of thinking and behavior. His class covers situational talk, grammer, pronunciation, writing, reading and everything. Also, he takes the tailored approach about class contents. He tries to listen to the student's needs and suggests the practices I can do for improvement. I highly recommand him!
Victoria is a wonderful teacher and person. We started understanding and combining simple phrases while travelling in Spanish speaking country after couple of months of her lessons. And after a year I already had working knowledge of Spanish.
My english level and fluency has improved significantly after working for 6 months with Michael. I have reached an advanced level!
Mrs. Schoenwald was my 10th and 11th Grade english teacher at a special needs High School. Mrs. Schoenwald's instruction was always clear and concise; when focus was lost Marna was able to easily redirect the class back to the lesson. With Marna's guidance and teaching style our class was able to excel and enjoy learning even when what was being taught (book being read or essay) was not interesting or engaging.
Linda is a professional of the highest order. She was genuinely interested in my development as a student and as a professional. She was always looking for ways to improve the class and learning environment, as well as to adapt the curriculum to my needs and interests. In addition, she always treated me with the uttermost respect. Finally, I must add that Linda not only has an acquaintance of the English language but also of literature. Thanks to Linda’s assignments and recommendations, I discovered several great authors and books that I was unaware of.
Even though I have lived in America for a few years, when I needed to study for the GRE I knew that I would need a tutor to get good score. Dwight was a fun and knowledgeable tutor who makes lessons interesting and really focused on my weaknesses to help me get better. I would recommend him to my best friend.

I am a New York based English (ESOL) teacher and have been teaching English for over six years. I hold a BA degree in sociology and am TESOL certified. I have taught beginner, intermediate and advance English to adult students who are recent immigrants to the United States, in addition to international high school and university students who are on vacation in New York. The city offers a rich diversity of culture, sights, sounds and attractions, offering a wondrous environment to practice this crazy, beautiful language we call English. Do you need help with grammar, pronunciation, phrasal verbs, idioms, conversation or just want a refresher? I would be more than happy to be your English guide. Small group and semi-private and private classes are available.

I am an academic writer who is specialized in both English and Spanish languages. I translate documents, write reviews for companies, and teach Spanish to foreigners and English to Spanish speakers. My classes are interactive and didactic. I use a website, Edmodo, to teach my lessons. I am flexible with time, and if there is something to translate on time, I can work under pressure.
