- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I charge an hourly rate of $150 per hour for residential design for new construction and remodeling. This may be changed to a total fee or percentage of construction cost once the full scope of services and the project are known at the client's request. This fee is usually less that my charges for commercial and business project. Monitoring of the contractor's work during the construction phase may be charged hourly and this service is recommended to insure quality control and compliance with the plans and building codes. I may provide interior design services when requested.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Phone call to discuss the scope of work and to arrange a preliminary meeting. Establish a contract with scope and fee. Provide alternate ideas with cost estimates for construction. Help with bid and/or negotiations with contractors. Monitor construction to ensure quality and compliance with building codes and the contract plans.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a B Architecture and M Architecture from Cornell University. My experience includes the design of numerous residential projects for new and additions and renovations for over 25 years. I am licensed to practice in New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts, I can obtain a license in any states with my NCARB certification.
