FAQs
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I have spent many years working for other people who did not know how to maintain their own books, who did not know how to prepare monthly and yearly reports, who did not know how to do financial projections, who did not know how to do tax prep, who did not know how to write policy and procedures, who did not know state and federal financial law. I learned at the very young age of 23 to go where there was a need.......and the need was in the area of finance and bookkeeping. My name is Dawn M Hodges. I live in Old Tappan, New Jersey. I have over 30 years experience in the world of finance and bookkeeping. I decided to start my own company several months ago because of the soft economy. There are many companies who can no longer afford to hire a full time bookkeeper. There are many companies who so not look at their financial growth potential because they simply cannot afford to hire a financial planner. Many companies no longer maintain 401K programs for their employees, yet these employees need options. There are companies that have been around for years and still have never written a company handbook or policies and procedures. These are some of the reasons I now offer my services to small and mid-sized companies. I have two undergraduate degrees in Outdoor Education and Business Management. I decided at the age of 38 to go back to college and get my MBA in finance, which I completed in 18 months. I was a CFO for a manufacturing company for 15 years., was a full charge bookkeeper and office manager in the camping industry for 3 years, I was a CFO for a debt consolidation company for 2 years, and I was a financial coordinator for a clothing design company for 12 years. I have over 30 years experience in finance while the companies have been diverse: manufacturing, retail, wholesale, customer based, debt consolidation, and the camping industry. I have been certified through Quickbooks certification program during the following years: 2003, 2005, and 2008. I am a Certified QuickBooks® ProAdvisor - 2011. I am a member of the National Bookkeepers Association, and I am a member of the Executive Registry of Who's Who among Executives and Professionals. I am ADP certified - 2009.
