For those of you who are hesitant to try an ecollar, let me just tell you that I was one of you and now I look back and realize that I spent a lot of time worrying for nothing! I can't even begin to tell you the amazing experience I've had with Off-Leash K9 Training. My 10 month old puppy, Lucy, would get distracted and want to chase leaves, plastic bags, and basically anything that moved. As far as walking on a leash, I wouldn' t have called what she did walking! It was more like pulling, tripping me, getting twisted in her leash, etc. Well after being trained by Jacqueline from OLK9, Lucy is now off leash, focused, responsive and is an extremely well behaved and well adjusted puppy!! As a result I can bring Lucy to more places and we can spend time having fun together! Family and friends cannot get over the improvement and neither can her dog walker! I couldn't be happier but even more important is the fact that Lucy couldn't be happier! OLK9 has taught me how to communicate productively with my puppy making us even closer! I can't thank you enough Off Leash K9 Training!!!! I will recommend you to every dog owner that I know!!!

I said half joking when discussing OLK9T with Jacqueline that Maddi will make a great "before" model but I wasn't so confident that she would ever be an "after." Jacqueline gave her all the attention she needed and I have to say Maddi is better behaved than we EVER could have imagined. I thought for years that Maddi had selective hearing and the only words she chose to hear were cookie, breakfast and dinner! Thanks to OLK9T she listens to the other things we say to her like sit, place, down, heel, come and most importantly OFF. OLK9T worked wonders with a very stubborn dog of a VERY stubborn breed (frenchie). Sending her to board and train was a great decision and we are only sorry that we didn't send her sooner.

I first noticed Bandit's goofy smile in his kennel at 11th Hour Rescue, a nonprofit rescue who saves dogs/cats from high kill shelters. I was a new volunteer and immediately fell in love. I wanted to bring him home to foster, unfortunately at the time Bandit was considered to not be "dog friendly" and had "aggression" issues. Bandit had been with 11th Hour for a year and had be returned twice by adopters for becoming protective over his family, and snapping and growling at any new people. You could see from his scars on his muzzle and paws that he had been in his share of fights while living on the street in Georgia. As much as I wanted to foster him, my own dog's safety needed to come first. Instead, he became my pet project, where I devoted the majority of my volunteer time to Bandit. He wanted to be loved and have his belly rubbed! I planned on working with him until he could be adopted. I would take him out on walks, (AKA Bandit dragging me around while choking himself.) It was a constant struggle to walk him. We would play in a play yard where he would nip at me when he was too excited. Sometimes he would growl and lunge at other dogs, sometimes he wouldn't. I couldn't get a read on what his triggers were or how to help him overcome them. I was lucky enough to meet Jacqueline, who owns Off Leash K9 Training NJ, through 11th Hour Rescue. She was a volunteer just like me, but had the experience and the training to know how to help Bandit. We discussed his history/background and how to help him. Among other training methods she would be using, such as positive reinforcement, she thought Bandit would be a good candidate for E Collar training. I will be the first to admit that I didn't like the idea, but only because I didn't know how they worked and how they were used. In my mind it was a “shock collar”. I was surprised to realize that when I held the collar in my hand, I couldn't even feel the first level! Jacqueline provided me with information to educate myself and to feel comfortable in using this training method. I quickly learned my views of "shock collars" were completely wrong, simply because I was uneducated about them and their use. I believe most people think that E collars hurt the dog and are used in a negative way; I thought that too at first. In fact, what I learned and ultimately had to execute myself, was that the opposite was true. After much research I found that E Collars, when used correctly, are the most humane collar you can use. They are not used to punish the dog. They are used to communicate with the dog using tapping sensations in order to get the dogs attention, just like a treat or a clicker. The only difference is the E Collar works 100% of the time versus a clicker and treat, which definitely work, but not if the distraction grabs the attention of the dog and is more interesting than the treat you are using. Another point that I found interesting and had a mistaken view on was that E Collars were just for difficult or unruly dogs. While training with Jacqueline, I met a bunch of very well behaved, obedient dogs, and to my initial surprise they too were wearing E Collars. The owners I spoke with explained that while their dogs had not had any behavior issues, they wanted to know their dogs were 100% safe and reliable off leash. I learned that you need to have an open mind and truly understand the different methods of dog training so you can create the best training program possible for each individual dog. We decided that Jacqueline would take Bandit in to her board and train program until I was comfortable bringing him to live with me. After the fist week of training with Jacqueline I was blown away by the changes and improvement in Bandit's behavior. She continued to work with him for 3 weeks. He was completely off leash, listening to commands 100% of the time, playing with dogs of all sizes and loving life. By the end of 3 weeks with Jacqueline, Bandit moved in to my house as my foster and I continued the training with Bandit as if he were my own dog just out of a board and train program. Bandit had improved so much and was ready to find his forever home. With his background, he needed to find someone who would keep up with his training and understood his needs. It is because of his training with the E collar that Bandit is now in a loving home with parents, 3 children and a doggy brother. I believe 100% that if he had not been E collar trained, he would still be at the kennel, quite possibly forever, not suitable for living in a home. Jacqueline and Off Leash K9 Training is the best thing that ever happened to Bandit, allowing him to overcome his fears and learn the proper way to behave in all situations. To top it off, Jacqueline donated Bandit’s E Collar to his forever family as well as gave them lifetime free training so they would continue to have support for the rest of Bandit’s life. What more could a dog ask for?

I am going to chime in on Michelle's (from 11th Hour Rescue) post on July 18, 2012. I am the alpha-mom from the lucky family (3 children 10 and under and a "never a second of issue" chocolate lab, Jasper) who adopted Bandit. Like Michelle, we immediately noticed Bandit's smile in looking over images online. We could not stop thinking about this adorable dog who's pictures and description of his progress from training. Now like any parent, the kid's safety comes first and foremost. I had the idea tha twe would never get a pitbull/mix due to the stigma and negative media in my household. However, we were intrigued with Bandit and decided to go take a look. Mind you, we are people who have NO experience whatsoever with training a dog, aside from watching the Dog Whisperer here and there. Jasper came as a rescue from the pound perfectly behaved. I don't want to lie, we were quite nervous and also initially not a fan of the idea of an e-collar, especially since we were not the most confident of people who thought we could continue training a dog. Jacqueline Zinetti's balanced approach of consummate professionalism, skillful and user-friendly training, and contagious passion for helping a special dog be successful with a family. I truly appreciated her patience for us as laypeople as she build's into her thorough training of us to make mistakes and to help build our confidence. Believe me, one half-hour with Jaqueline and Off-Leash K9 Training, you recognize the top-notch training your dog AND you are receiving. Bandit has been with us about a month now and we are mutually loving the bond we are creating. He is awesome with the kids and did very well with transitioning with Jasper. We are seeing his progress with his transition despite our mistakes that we have made. There have been some regression, however these are moments that we use to continue to practice and train using the tools that Jac With Off-Leash K9 Trainer, Jacqueline there, we are confident that we will

Can you give 10 out of 5 stars? I have been amazed at my experience with Jacqueline and Off Leash K9 training. The Off-Leash K9 training is exceptional. We had what I and most people thought was an incredible 7 month old puppy. This training has taken her to the next level. Our Cici amazes everyone with her behavior. I can not say enough wonderful things about Jacqueline. Her knowledge about dogs and their behavior is extensive. She has been so caring and dedicated to making sure our experience with our dog is the best possible. She has been immeasurably helpful in aiding us as we grow our pack from one puppy to three. Her advise is always spot on. I could rave about her all day and still have more to say. You will not be disappointed!
