Julia was our Chef for a Yoga Retreat in Austin, Texas. She did an amazing job of preparing and presenting, Vegan and Gluten Free options for us. It was a three day two night Retreat with 20 people. Food was always on time, and the thoughtfulness and energy that went into the meals were felt by everyone. She did an amazing job coming into a kitchen and space that she had never seen before. We provided a Sous Chef for her, she provided Christine with detailed instructions making the process flawless. So glad Julia was with us!! And we miss her in Austin!
For about a year now Shirley has been our personal assistant as well chef. I don't know how we managed before without her. Eating good fresh healthy food all the time has changed our lives. And she also keeps us organized. And all in two afternoons a week. You have to try her out, you won't be sorry.
I have only, great things, to say about New Leaf. Liz @ New Leaf is true to her word. My knowledge has grown concerning nutrition, like reading labels and not being mislead, what to look for, what to avoid, yummy recipes that are healthful and the best mix of protein, carbs and healthy fats for my life style. Her exercise program for me included strength training, cardio, and stretch. I wasn't in pain/sore after exercise yet, I have noticed an improvement in my strength and flexibility. She is very encouraging and I love her kind and funny spirit. She is like a breath of fresh air! She is very knowledgeable and well rounded in the health field. I am grateful for all I have learned from New Leaf!!
I so loved it when Jackie cooked for my family for a myriad of reasons from the time element, to healthy dinners, to ease of having a home-cooked meal. The kids would give Jacki a request of their favorites items they had come to love from her cooking. It was wonderful. Can you imagine your child requesting to have mashed cauliflower, or a baked fish dish, or how about asparagus? Well, my kids did. They are so willing to try new foods, and the repertoire of choices now has grown exponentially. I wish I could say it was because of me, but I know Jacki was instrumental with it. Thanks, Jacki!!
Chef Myra is an extraordinary example of culinary perfectionism- creating meals, that are high in nutrition, while delighting the most discriminating “foodie” palettes- to “fun”, healthy, yummy meals my 10 year old can hardly wait to eat. She is professional, comprehensive, communicative, knowledgeable and yet not “stuffy” & arrogant like some chefs of her caliber. Anyone who is lucky enough to work with her will be delighted with her culinary skills.
Took a wonderful three day cooking class with Jane Butel at her Southwestern Cooking School. Jane presents a lot of fascinating and useful information about the history of the ingredients, highlighting the spices used in this area. She is an excellent teacher in the kitchen, and presents a well organized and easy to learn agenda, giving her students hands on experience in constructing, cooking and eating the wonderful food. There are a wide variety of recipes presented to be constructed, cooked and consumed. All in all, a terrific class, well worth your time to be transported to the spicy 🌶 🌶🌶 word of cooking in the Southwest USA!!!!
We walked in the house after a military service and the smell of Greek food and the presentations were just beyond belief. Large trays of freshly cut melons along with a large tray of freshly cut meats and cheeses greeted us. Chef George also had Greek macaroni, greek chicken, Greek potatoes, and a Greek salad prepared and ready for the large group that was assembling at our home. Then there was the freshly made chocolate pies and cakes, which were just fabulous. What a pleasure it was to have everything beautifully prepared when we arrived. The food was prepared and tasted just like my grand mother used to make for us. Our thanks goes out to Chef George for the perfect ending to a difficult day for all of us. Chef George's knowledge and experience produced an experience that surpassed all of our expectations. Chef George comes very highly recommended for any event.
