Kirsten came to our house several times (without increasing her fee) because she is truly committed to getting us and our dogs behaving properly. She explains things clearly, demonstrates, and coaches my husband and me as we practice being pack leaders. We have four dogs - one a serious problem - and it hasn't been easy, but we are making progress, and we are very grateful for her guidance and support. We highly recommend her to anyone whose dog(s) have behavior problems such as being out-of-control, aggressive, demanding, or frightened.

Excellent instructions for how to manage a large doggie who was fearful of everything. I am grateful for all of the assistance so far and look forward to more training experience.

About this pro

Kirsten Ralph is certified in Service Dog Training. She trains dogs in public and in client's homes, depending on the needs. Kirsten does service dog training for all kind of disabilities, training the client's own dog if suitable for the job, or help picking out a dog from the shelter. The service dog training program is tailored to the client's disability. Kirsten is also certified in Behavior Rehabilitation, using the Dillender Method. She will show the client to implement a structured behavior program to solve any behavior issues. Kirsten has also years of experience as a certified Dog Trainer in obedience, using only positive methods. I love to work with dogs, and their owners. It makes me happy to know that the dog and owner have a more full-filling relationship after the training program.

    Q & A

    • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices are pretty simple, and are listed on my website. I do give a Military discount for service dog training.
    • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We have a conversation about the client's dog(s) first, i.e. any problems they have, or what they like to teach the dog(s), their dog'(s)' history if available etc., then I will offer them solutions to fix the problems, or training options. After this, we make an appointment for the session(s).
    • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have done continuing education from the day I became a dog trainer, and will be doing this in the future. I have attended seminars, bought tons of books and DVD's, I attended school to get certified, and I help a shelter and rescue group to train dogs to be more adoptable. I have learned the most from my student dogs.
