FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a Dietitian, I am required to complete 75 hours of continuing education each year. In actuality, I complete about 3 times that amount because my interests are varied.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been interested in nutrition. After a successful career in Sales and Marketing, I got married and had two beautiful babies (now 21 and 24). I no longer wanted to travel, so decided to change careers. During my exploratory process, nutrition kept appearing, so I spoke with 2 friends who had gotten their degrees in Nutrition. One was a home economics teacher at a high school, the other a researcher for Chevron. The researcher told me to take a chemistry class. She said, if you like Chemistry, you'll love nutrition. So that is what I did and I loved it!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would look for a provider who has experience in the field, and the resources to work with a variety of clients. I would want someone who provides individualized support and services.
