I gave him my laptop expecting it to be fixed. He did not do so. After giving him my laptop he asked for the original CDs that came with the laptop. I let him know before I gave him the laptop I did not have the CDs. He tried his best to fix it but it is just as useless as before if not worst. The worst part about this entire experience with him is that the night we were suppose to meet to return my laptop I waited over an hour and a half for him. He did not have the courtesy to call to let me know what happened. After I received my laptop back. I let him know I was not satisfied with his work and request a refund. He stated he does not work for free and will unable to give me a refund. It got to the point were I have to involve Thumbtack Support. customer posted need a computer tech for a hard drive issue on thumbtack, after viewing her request I replied with a quote. she agreed and set up a meeting place and time. She did say that her hard drive was not working, I took her laptop to see what I could do for the customer, hard drive was died, I called and explained to the customer I might have a drive that just might work. after asking the customer if she had any of her software she replied no. I put in the drive any way and explained that it would need windows and if she had any of her disc so that I could load it to the new drive. she had told me she had none, I told her that the drive had Vista on it and I loaded a trail version of MS Office. and explained that she would have to get on her website to activate it. she replied she knew how. I received a text from Kristal stating she was very unhappy and that she wanted her money back, I replied stating I put time in working on her laptop and no one works for free. I received a called from thumbtack stating she had called and was unhappy, I explained the situation to there support people and there agreed that it was up to me if I wanted to bring closure and try to make the customer happy she called me again and we meet this time she had supplied me with some DVD for a HP restoration , learned that the software belonged to a friend of hers, I explained again the I could not use them due to the fact that her system did not read the disc and that some one else had already loaded that software to their computer lic. issue she wanted everything back. I notified thumbtack again and explained the senario and there understood. I've have worked in the field for better then 15 yrs and know what I am doing no disrespect intended.
