FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
1. I offer FINANCING, both through myself and my merchant account. 2. I offer "Preferred Customer" plans which allow a lower monthly payment and include free redesigns every 18 months 3. I offer hosting of sites for as low as $10/month 4. Everything is negotiable
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. I work with you to narrow down your requirements, timelines, and budgets 2. I write up a Scope of Work (SOW) which itemizes everything, describes the work, the cost, and the milestones (where applicable) 3. I send a copy for your review & we schedule a time to review it together 4. I review the SOW with you, step-by-step, and allow for Q&A ** My goal is that you understand everything in there 5. Once we agree on the SOW, that becomes the guiding document for the work...if not agreed upon, I make changes and we go back to step 3 6. Changes requested to the SOW are taken as given by the customer, with the understanding that it may have an effect on the output (cost, timeline, etc.). If the change is significant enough, I will rewrite the SOW, but typically this is done through email and creating an appendix for the SOW
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Always. One of the things about software development is that it moves so fast there are no universities or colleges that can keep up with it. This means that each developer has to keep up on his own. The more you know, the more you have to read to keep up on it. I currently program in several languages and work with servers and other network technologies as well. This means I am constantly working and reading to keep up with the latest technologies. It also helps to make good decisions on the staying power of a product (many just go away after a year or two on the market). Because I stay up so much, I have avoided those technologies completely, even advising my clients away from them on their own projects.
