Lisa Rhode Music Studio
About this pro
Really appreciate her approach to the adult student. She emphasizes not just the mechanics but explains the nature of the music itself, comparing pieces to other types , eras and composers. A pleasure to work and study with. I feel I am making real progress, unlike my other attempts to learn piano as an adult. Rob LipscombAug 14, 2018
I've only had one lesson, but I like her teaching method.Jan 28, 2017Verified
So far my daughter is really enjoying her piano lessons with Lisa.Dec 3, 2014Verified
Lisa is a wonderful teacher: understanding and gently demanding at the same time, coaxing out a better skill than I thought I had. I am a mature student but I have also seen her gentle style in person with her young students. I recommend her highly!Oct 17, 2014Verified
I've been taking piano lessons from Lisa for several months. I played well as a child but hadn't touched a keyboard in decades. Lisa is a very skilled and dedicated teacher. The music she provides is aesthetically pleasing and a joy to play. She works me hard but doesn't ask any more of me than she gives of herself. She's also funny.Aug 25, 2013Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My pricing system is quite simple: I offer a FREE trial lesson, and after that lessons are $40/half hour, $50/45 minutes, and $60/hour. I also offer a a free 30-minute lesson to existing clients each time they refer a new client to me and the referral results in a trial lesson!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I offer a FREE trial lesson, which includes a meet-and-greet, a lesson, a review of my policies and procedures, and ample opportunity for the client to ask me questions. During the trial lesson, I ask the client about his or her musical preferences, learning style, and so forth. Most important, over time, I collaborate closely with each client to customize my teaching style to that student's unique needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I studied with concert pianist Marcantonio Barone of the Bryn Mawr Conservatory of Music and attended the Interlochen Center for the Arts' summer music program. I have also had twelve years of experience teaching piano and several more years of experience teaching children and adults in other capacities.
