About this pro
I believe that what's unique about me as a music teacher is my enthusiasm, perceptiveness, and high level of actual TEACHING skills! I'm not only a musician, but have taught in many capacities, both children and adults, and I love the challenge and the satisfaction of finding exactly what music and what method works for each and every student. What I like most about my "job" is that it doesn't feel at all like a job! After fifteen years of teaching, I still feel like I'm on my honeymoon, and can't believe how blessed I am that I earn my living doing something so enjoyable.
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My pricing system is quite simple: I offer a FREE trial lesson, and after that lessons are $40/half hour, $50/45 minutes, and $60/hour. I also offer a a free 30-minute lesson to existing clients each time they refer a new client to me and the referral results in a trial lesson!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I offer a FREE trial lesson, which includes a meet-and-greet, a lesson, a review of my policies and procedures, and ample opportunity for the client to ask me questions. During the trial lesson, I ask the client about his or her musical preferences, learning style, and so forth. Most important, over time, I collaborate closely with each client to customize my teaching style to that student's unique needs.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I studied with concert pianist Marcantonio Barone of the Bryn Mawr Conservatory of Music and attended the Interlochen Center for the Arts' summer music program. I have also had twelve years of experience teaching piano and several more years of experience teaching children and adults in other capacities.
