Introduction: My name is Sheila Krout, and I am an established Boulder City piano teacher. With me, you will learn how to read music, learn about theory and ear training. I can teach any type of music that you would like to learn, but I specialize in classical music. My teaching background: I have taught piano since the age of 12. My experience in teaching has been over 35 years. My students have ranged in age from 4 to 86 years old. I have performed with the Boulder City Community Chorus, as well as many other church choirs. In addition, I have been an accompanist for all Boulder City schools, working many times with orchestra and choir students. My teaching philosophy: I believe in teaching how to read music right away, with no number or color system. I expect my students to practice, and in turn, reward them for their efforts. I have a prize table with prizes ranging from 50 cents to $20.00. The more songs passed, the more prizes are obtainable. The art of playing the piano should not only be rewarding, but also an enjoyable experience. My rates and availability: My rates are $20.00 per 1/2 hour, and $35.00 per hour. Lessons are held once a week, from Monday through Friday. Saturday appointments are also available. Please call us for available times, including mornings and evenings.
