FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is not really complicated; I charge $30 for the diagnosis, which is applied towards the final bill. This covers driving time, gas, and any simple fixes such as a loose Ethernet cable. At the same time, I might ask if there are any other issues that need to be addressed. Additionally, I leave my business card in case there are any further questions or issues.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Generally, I have tried to become certified cross platform, meaning Mac and PC. Also, I have pursued vendor certifications that are vendor specific, such as Dell and Apple, as well as any certification that I believe is relevant and not ephemeral. Right now, I am pursuing my Windows 7 certification because it appears businesses are adapting it and my customers seem to like it as a replacement for Windows XP.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've always been interested in computers since the original IBM PC was released in 1981. What has changed significantly since then is that the whole computing experience has become much more enjoyable.
