After my first guitar lesson with Jeff, I knew that I was in the right place. I am a complete beginner; in which Jeff displayed patience, provided direction, and threw in some humor to loosen me up so that I enjoyed the lesson. He’s an amazing instructor and a very enjoyable person to be around. His knowledge, expertise & career accolades are just some of the highlights of his work. I’ve dabbled on guitar for years, learning various songs and tricks, and picked up sloppy habits along the way. Jeff quickly saw and corrected techniques that I could benefit greatly from, and clearly showed me the better ways, and he built a notebook for exercises that were customized for my level and goals. Easy going, vast experience and knowledge, adapted the lessons to my interests (classical and blues) and I am enjoying working with him. Feels great to be learning in a professional & productive manner! Glad I found him 👍🏼👍🏼

Jeff is a phenomenal guitar instructor. I am a 71 year old guy who took a year of lessons at age 8 and then was self taught. Along the way, college, marriage and children took precedence and I played infrequently. By the time I was ready to pick it up again, I had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and my fine motor coordination was greatly reduced. My recent attempts to play were frustrating to say the least and I thought, not terribly optimistically, that perhaps getting some instruction and correcting years of bad habits and learning things I neglected would somehow be rewarding. I did not hold out much hope, as I had tried this once before and the frustration of trying to move my fingers in new ways was too great. I mention all of this to provide context for my review of Jeff. Within a few minutes of sitting down with Jeff, I found that he had a remarkable sense of what I could do and what I needed. I realized that I would be going back to some basics and was concerned about how I would feel about that. Jeff was supportive and encouraging and I now feel that despite my personal difficulties, this was the best decision I have made in a long time. I look forward to picking up the guitar and practicing, something I have not felt since I began at 8. Jeff can provide the foundation needed for beginners to flourish and the techniques for experienced player so to improve. He has an ideal temperament for teaching, always encouraging and positive. I wish I had found him years ago.

Working with Jeff Colvin has been an amazing experience so far. I was a little rusty on my guitar playing skills, but he's been very helpful. He provides personalized lessons and videos to work on in between lesson. He's also a very laid back and down to earth instructor..... Highly recommended!!!!!!
