Introduction: I used to work with McKellar Family Law and just recently decided to branch out on my own. I learned a lot from my time there but decided to “fly solo.” As it is just me and my paralegal Dawn we get to know each of our clients very well and client interaction and satisfaction is of the utmost importance. Dawn has been my paralegal for close to two years and prides herself on knowing our clients like family! Often when clients come to you it is because something has gone wrong. If I was allowed to check all 5 boxes above I would have. Ms. Aklestad is all business, thankfully!, no messing around and that's what I needed, incredible advice and always came through. She was so superior in how she cared for and handled my case especially in court with apposing attorney, never giving them a chance to use their lies and deceit, always taking control and leaving the opposing attorney stunned. I've had several attorneys over many years, and they barely remembered my name let alone my case. I have noticed that Ms. Aklestad is highly respected by other Judges, and after seeing her performance in court , most likely highly despised by apposing attorneys. You can look around for others, but for professionalism, honesty and value, you'll always end up back with Alyssa Aklestad. That's my 2 cents! Ron

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I mostly do hourly work and require a retainer which covers that amount of work. Some cases are able to be handled with a flat fee such as an uncontested divorce and DUI.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I either conduct a phone consultation or an in person consult. There I run a conflict check and find out the clients needs. I then give them an overview of the process and a price quote.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Gonzaga University and a JD from Temple University.
