- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I originally went to school to be a dentist, then a medical examiner... then... just kidding!!!! Needless to say, I loved science but wasn't exactly sure how I wanted to use it. 3 years into my Biochemistry Degree I was sick (in the hospital with pneumonia) when I realized I was working so hard for something I didn't love. I changed my major to Exercise Science to pursue Physical/Occupational Therapy. Shortly before graduation, a professor told me to take ample time making my decision. His words were "You are young and vibrant; don't let the industry take that out of you." That's when I decided to become a trainer. I got to combine all of my education and my passion for helping people.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
We always start with Nutritional Counseling. Its the biggest culprit for halting our success. Next we work on Corrective Exercise and proper exercise technique. I add in Cardio Training for you to do on your own while we focus on Resistance Training in our sessions. Once I am confident in your technique and habits, I will create resistance training programs for you to do on your own if needed. We take measurements every two weeks for accountability (for you and ME).
