Working with Magic for 2 years absolutely changed my life. When I came to him I can be honest and say I was obese and feeling terrible about myself. His engaging personality drew me in right away and he was as committed to me succeeding as I was. I lost 70 pounds working with him. He gave me great nutritional plans and was a constant source of encouragement even when we weren't training. I owe Magic so much and I would recommend him to anyone. In fact, I did! One of my friends signed up and she loves him as well. Magic is the best Las Vegas has to offer.

I love training with Andrew! I noticed after the first 2 months that my balance and strength had changed significantly and I'm amazed each day that I can do more and more. He pushes me but encourages me as well and always knows just what I can handle. I look so forward to my training days and want to let anyone know that if they're looking for a trainer who knows his stuff and will help you achieve your goals, it's Andrew! I will work out with him as long as he's training! 😊

Rob is my fiance and I personal trainer! We have been to a couple of his boot camps in the past and have had great results, but was too busy to attend and commit full time. I recently given birth to my daugther in February and I discussed a time frame with him when I felt confidant enough to get back in the gym...which eventually...(I was making excuses). Rob knew my determination run deep but I felt lost and out of it after giving birth. He reached out to me, convince me and offer a trail session and it was awesome and was able to commit full time! He work with our schedule due to having a newborn. He cares about us and his other clients! I have had other personal trainer in the past but nothing is like the relationship that is present now. I been training now going on 2 months and I feel great, losing my baby weight I gained, have tons of energy! I plan to train with him for a long time! I highly recommend his services. My fiance and I are in a group fitness class, but he always work with us one-to-one to make sure we are doing the workout properly and switch /change a workout with modifications if needed. Pros: Customize meal plans, family atmosphere, and results!

Mick is the best! I wish I still lived in Vegas, because I would still be going to him 3-4 days a week. He is really a wealth of knowledge, and I enjoyed picking his brain about fitness and nutrition. During training sessions, Mick always pushed me to my limits...which I needed! He really spends thorough time with his clients, and didn't just treat me like a time slot like some trainers. It's really nice to work with someone who practices what he preaches!

I absolutely LOVE training with Gev!!! He is so knowledgeable in what he does. He takes the time to listen and understand what you want to achieve and tailors every workout towards it. So far, every workout has been insanely challenging, and he is always pushing me to my limits. I like how he educates me on nutrition and diet and constantly follows up on my eating habits to make sure I stay on track. Gev makes working out amazingly fun, not to mention, his charming personality is just an added bonus. I strongly recommend him, if you're looking for the perfect trainer. His passion to help others reflects in his work... and he will always be my inspiration. :)

Ken communicates well about scheduling, and I found his flexibility very helpful! He'll adjust the workout according to what you need/want to work on. I used to be a big Crossfit guy before getting away from fitness for about 7 years and Ken made sure I could get back into fitness! He talked with me about diet in addition to perfecting my technique every step of the way! My form and strength improved miles in my first month with him. 5/5 Defo recommend!!!

I have been working with Marcia for two years now and could not be happier. She is a results driven instructor without being overbearing or obnoxious. Marcia has taken me from a size 22 to a size 10/12. She also does conditioning training with our 12 year old son on a weekly basis. He is heavily involved in club soccer. His coaches and other parents have asked what we are doing with him because the marked improvement in his performance. In short, I would highly recommend Marcia and Integral Fitness to anyone at any level of fitness. I have gone from someone that never even thought about exercise to enjoying and looking forward to on a daily basis. I have even done several races. That is something, two years ago I would have bet my house could never happen.

Was looking for personal training in a low-key comfortable environment without the "sell" larger gyms place on you. Kelly is great. Took a few sessions to evaluate my strength/fitness and now focuses on areas I need improvement. His background in Hypnotherapy, Meditation, and Life Coaching is a plus in that you can't help but benefit from his positivity and outlook.

Kyle is the best trainer I have ever had! He makes fun/unique meal plans, I am not restricted to eating the same meals every week. He’s also super kind and motivating while training. I have lost 4% body fat in 1 month of working with him. I feel more energized, happy, and healthy...I wouldn’t be able to accomplish my health or fitness goals without his guidance.

I have only been working out with Gabe for a month but I am already seeing results and am extremely happy with the partnership. His quick response to my initial text requesting an intro session played an integral part in getting us together. He caught me while it was still fresh on my mind and gave me no time to back pedal on my decision to start back up training again. His knowledge, patience and overall enthusiasm that he brings to each session, is unmatched by any of my previous trainers. If you are looking to get back in shape, or just to take your fitness routine to the next level, Train with Gabe is your answer.

About 6 months ago, I had a really gnarly cliff jumping accident which left me unable to exercise for 3 months & forced to modify my exercises for 6 months which atrofied the little muscle that I had. I wanted help getting back on the horse & I had success with a trainer when I was 17 (I'm 22 now) who was able to target the areas that I wanted but my experience with trainers since then has been dismal at best. I've seen about 3 different trainers in Vegas alone in the past month with the sole purpose of bodybuilding the muscles in my butt. I've told all of them that I wanted to avoid overworking my arms, didn't want to hurt my back & most importantly wanted to REALLY active my glutes (every girls dream, right??). None of them delivered until I met Jordan. It's the day after my first workout & im sooooo sore in all the right places (hello new butt here I come!!). I expressed my concerns & he took the time to make a custom workout for me BEFORE the session (how awesome is that??). He kept track of my reps (something all trainers should do but few actually do), encouraged me to push myself, seems to genuinely care & has a great smile to boot. I'm his new fan!! When I told him that I have a predisposition to back pain, he repositioned himself to make sure my back was staying straight so I wasn't hurting myself & that made a world of difference. He also kept checking with me to make sure I wasn't hurting my knee & made sure I had knee pads if it was required which was really nice. The way he set the workouts up, my knee didn't hurt at all (yay!) but he didn't make me feel like I'd be whining if I said it did. Im impressed with his patience, dedication & attention to detail. His package deal is also incredibly affordable which is awesome because I really wanted to hardcore train my glutes 3 times a week. I'm super freaking excited to post before & after pictures because I know Jordan will deliver!! Jordan is the epitome of affordability meets quality & he deserves all the praise in the world. He's charming, affordable & delivers results according to what YOU want (that's a biggie right there). Get ahold of him now before word gets out about how awesome he is & he stops having room for new clients. Best of luck in your training journey :) -M

Working with Tony has been the best experience that I've ever had with a personal trainer. I have been training to join the Army and was very nervous about being able to clear my body fat percentage to join, as well as be prepared for basic training (boot camp). Under Tony's guidance, I was able to drop 4% body fat in less than two months and went from barely making it through ten push-ups to being able to do seventy push-ups during our workouts. His positivity and inspiration gave me the confidence to find those same qualities in myself and now I feel more prepared than ever. He showed me what it means to invest in myself and my health and I have seen the results tenfold. He was right there next to me, showing me the form and pushing me to be better every single session and checked in with me in between which showed his personal commitment to me. This has clearly been one of the best investments I have made in my life. Thank you Tony.

Hannah is the best of the best when it comes to personal trainers in Las Vegas. I started working out with Hannah years ago and she got me into the best shape I’d ever been in, and helped me achieve the look I wanted. I picked back up with her recently after she moved back to town, and I’ve been very happy with my progress so far. Not only is she super nice, she’s attentive—never pushing you to where you’d injure yourself, but instead motivating you to reach your full potential. I look foraward to my workouts every week and am excited to get back into the best shape of my life! I know for a fact I couldn’t do this on my own (I’ve tried). Hannah switches up the workouts consistently so that training never gets boring, and she can help with nutrition, too. Don’t put off your health goals any longer. Give Hannah a call! You won’t regret it.

I’ve been training with Lisa for just about 2 years now or maybe a little over. Her training and work ethic is spot on. She tailors your workout program specifically to your needs. Through training with her I’ve gained a great rapport with her which is important for a successful outcome. I’ve gained other special friends as well through her network of clients. I recommend Lisa because her passion to help you meet your goals over exceeds all expectations.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    Is kickboxing hard?

Kickboxing is as intense a workout as you want it to be. As with any fitness regimen, the more effort you put in, the more results you will get. The type of kickboxing you do will determine how physically challenging it is. Combat or self-defense kickboxing, where you train in a martial arts studio with sandbags or spar against combat partners, can be an intense physical workout. Group kickboxing classes that use sandbags as part of the workout will also elevate the degree of intensity, because of the level of exertion punching and kicking the bag requires. Cardio kickboxing group fitness, which employ kicking and punching moves but no sandbags, has comparable intensity to jogging but works a wider range of muscles while increasing strength, flexibility and coordination. Here are some of the core kickboxing moves:

    • Cross: A straight punch that you throw slightly across your body, using your dominant hand.
    • Jab: A quick, straight, face punch. Usually thrown with the non-dominant hand.
    • Uppercut: A punch thrown up from the midsection (using either hand) that connects with the underside of your opponent’s chin.
    • Hook: A curved punch (using either hand) that connects with your competitor’s jaw or chin.
    • Side kick: A kick delivered when your competitor is at an angle to you. Raise your leg to the side, then bend at the knee to deliver the kick.
    • Front kick: A kick delivered straight on while you are facing your opponent.
    • Roundhouse kick: A kick delivered by swinging a leg up in a clockwise or counterclockwise motion (depending on which leg you’re using) with momentum to strike the opponent with the instep of the foot.

What should you wear to kickboxing?

What you wear to kickboxing can vary based on the setting. For kickboxing group fitness classes that are part of a gym’s cardio class schedule, standard fitness attire is appropriate. Athletic sneakers, pants or shorts that you can comfortably kick in without getting tangled or flashing anyone, and a top that allows for easy movement when punching and jabbing are all good choices. You won’t need protective gear or gloves, as most cardio-based kickboxing classes do not use punching bags.

Kickboxing training that takes place at a martial arts studio typically requires protective gear. You may need boxing gloves (beginners may want 12-ounce or heavier gloves for more cushioning) and hand wraps that protect and support your hands under the gloves while you punch the bag. If your kickboxing training includes sparring with opponents, you’ll need a mouthguard and any protective head and body gear your studio requires. Always be sure to bring plenty of water, too.

What is a boot camp class?

Fitness boot camps are a heart-pounding way to boost your fitness level. Boot camps are led by a fitness instructor and are based on the concept of military boot camps — intensive workout programs to get new recruits into shape, quickly. Fitness boot camps encourage camaraderie, and the group momentum helps participants get through fast-paced intervals of cardio, isometric training, strength training and endurance drills. Classes may range anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes, and usually meet multiple days per week. Boot camps often run a specific duration of time, say four to six weeks, which creates a team-like environment for class members. Other boot camps run year-round and students purchase package pricing for classes, similar to subscriptions that allow them a set amount of classes per week or per month.

Boot camps can be held indoors at a gym, outdoors in a park or on a beach, in a backyard — anywhere there’s room for running, jumping and sweating. Some instructors also provide DVD and online boot camps. You can also find boot camps tailored to your heart’s desire, such as bikini boot camp, or boot camps for new mothers. Boot camps offer an intense workout and are usually led by energetic instructors pushing you to do your best, but unlike military boot camp drill sergeants, fitness boot camp instructors typically don’t use intimidation or punishment to spur you on. Check with your doctor before starting a boot camp if you have health concerns, and always let your instructor know ahead of time if you have injuries.

What do you need for kickboxing?

What you need to bring to kickboxing depends on where you are working out and what your goals are. For a gym or fitness club’s cardio-based group kickboxing class that does not use punching bags, you generally need only appropriate workout gear and enough water. For kickboxers who are training in a martial arts studio, working one-on-one with a trainer toward a specific goal or sparring with competitors, you will need your own boxing gloves (12- to 16-ounce gloves provide more protection for beginners) and hand wraps (to protect and support your hands under the gloves, as well as keep them dry). If your lessons are in a martial arts studio, you may not be permitted to wear shoes, so bring clean socks if you don’t like to go barefoot. If your training includes sparring, you may be required to wear a mouthguard and/or protective headgear. Whether you’re in a group fitness class or hardcore training session, bring a sweat towel for your comfort and the comfort of people around you.

How much is a boot camp?

The cost of fitness boot camps depends on how often you go, the package you are purchasing (or if you are paying a drop-in fee), the location of the bootcamp, the equipment the instructors provide, and the background and reputation of the instructor. Smaller towns and areas with a lower cost of living typically have lower rates for boot camp services than big cities and regions with a higher cost of living. If you’re paying per class on a drop-in basis, expect to pay anywhere from $12 to $25 or more, depending on the region and the instructor. When you purchase a package of classes, typically the more you buy at one time, the cheaper each class is. The same boot camp class might be $20 for a drop-in student, $15 for a student who pays for 10 classes per month, and $10 for a student who pays for 30 classes a month. Studio space can also affect costs, so if your boot camp takes place in a high-end gym with top-of-the-line equipment, the prices will likely be higher than a class that meets in an outdoor space with limited or no equipment. Shop around to find the right type of boot camp class and the right instructor for you.
