Introduction: I DO NOT DESIGN CLOTHING OR REMOTE LEARNING. I have been an avid seamstress since I was in jr. high school. I am retired however, sewing is my passion. My grandmother was a professional seamstress/tailor. I learned from her how to do classic techniques. I do private sewing lessons. This is a skill that is becoming lost in todays' throw-away society, I feel that clothing can be re-purposed or repaired rather than tossed away. My specialty is repairing, replacing zippers, hems and alterations. I do a lot of handworks as well ie: HAND-EMBROIDERY ONLY, repairing sweaters, holes, and re-creating or reviving jeans or jean jackets with embellishments. I give them your own unique sense of style, adding lace. I also make a lot of craft items as well. I make Heirloom dolls that are personalized with a story. I also specialize in Blessing gowns too. My desire is to use my honed skills from over 50 years of sewing experience to ensure 100% satisfaction. My aim is that the job isn't finished until you are happy. I only work locally except for Dolls & Blessing gowns. I also am able to do sewing lessons with ASL and Spanish.

I contacted Lynda earlier this week after reading her reviews. She responded within the hour, I explained the project, Lynda gave me a very reasonable price and set me up with an appointment for today. When I realized she was across the valley from me, I asked if it was possible to have it done while I waited and I was very happy to learn she would do that for me. Lynda's work is beautiful! She is truly a professional and so accommodating! I enjoyed my time spent chatting with her! If you need alterations done professionally for a very reasonable price...I highly recommend Lynda!! She's absolutely GREAT!!

Lynda loves her craft and is very patient. She is delightful and gave me a wonderful education on tailoring my pants, pitfalls, sewing cheats and recommendations. I plan to work with Lynda on several more projects.

I had a wonderful experience hiring Sew & Sew to do alterations on my 6 pair of pants. Lynda was very nice fast and professional I shopped around before choosing Sew & Sew and Her Prices are great and very reasonable. I received my pants exactly when she said they would be done. And as a bonus she replaced the zipper on one of my favorite jacket practically free. I will be back and I highly recommend SEW & SEW Services " Thanks Lynda :)

I brought Lynda six items that needed to be hemmed. She was very friendly and I felt completely confident that she would do a good job. She had my items ready sooner than she promised and her workmanship was excellent. I definitely will use her services again and highly recommend her to anyone who needs a seamstress.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I offer comparable rates or quotes for the job..If I quote a price for the time involved and I am able to accomplish the task sooner I adjust the price accordingly.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I communicate via phone/email to assess the clients needs. Most of the time I need to see the item to tell what to do other than simple tasks.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I learned how to sew when I was 12 yrs old from my Grandmother, who was a professional seamstress/tailor. I also took sewing/tailoring classes in school. I made most of my own clothes through jr. high & high school. I also made clothing for some of my fellow co-workers or alterations during my working life. I continue to do mostly alterations.
