Introduction: I am a CAD design engineer with extensive experience in the mechanical plumbing and electrical disciplines during my time working for employers such as Quality Mechanical, Harris Engineers, JBA and Canyon Electric. I have 15 years' experience in the contracting and consulting industries; thus, I am confident that I have the skill and ability required for the position you are seeking to fill. From my experience, I was able to develop skills in drafting and design, giving me the ability to generate fully coordinated 3D drawings for not only mechanical, plumbing, and electrical but also for structural, architectural and civil disciplines. My skills in 3D modeling give me the ability to not only design and draft concise and fully coordinated plans, but I'm also simultaneously generating models for plans, sections, elevations, details, 3D isometrics, shop drawings and spool sheets. I'm not however limited to 3D drafting; I'm skilled in generating all plans found in a contract document or a design-build type of submittal, such as a sheet index, code analysis, sheet specifications, schedules, diagrams, etc. I'm skilled in performing calculations, such as heat load, using Trane's Trace 700, elite's CHVAC including the drawing board utility, wet- and dry-side pressure-drop calculations, mixed air temperature, etc. I have skills in plumbing calculations, such as adding fixture units for sizing waste and vent, hot and cold water and gas piping. My skills include calculations for electrical such as load calculations, voltage-drop and balancing phases. Furthermore, as a result of having worked in the construction industry for over 15 years, I have developed an understanding of the process and flow of information required to complete a wide range of projects. I have the ability to complete tasks all the way from architectural concept through preliminary design, building department submission, working with plan checkers to ensure that the project is up to code and will be permitted. I make it a point to visit the jobsite frequently, verifying the project is per plan and will pass inspection. Working with contractors to answer their requests for information both in writing and sketches, I have skills in project management, facilitating the smooth and efficient progression of the project. Finally, I do a complete walk-through and checklists working with commissioners guaranteeing that the owner will receive their cert. of occupancy in a timely manner to begin operations as soon as possible.
