Paul, Lisa and the team were exceptional! They were professional and were extremely flexible on our schedule. Lisa was very helpful and genuine in meeting our needs, and Paul took wonderful, quality photos and video. The team provided video and photo services for my parent's 46th anniversary which spanned two days. Although we had hiccups on our end Paul and his team were professional and I didn't have to worry about missing a special moment! Thanks Paul, Lisa, and your team! I will definitely recommend and use them again!

Doug recorded about a dozen Q&A interviews at an industry conference, then produced finished video clips from content we selected. The whole process was very smooth. He made sure ahead of time that he understood the scope and goal of the project, he was professional to deal with, and he produced high quality work.

We found doug on Thumbtack and we set up a meeting with him about 3-4 months before our wedding. He was very professional and shot straight with us. He gave us suggestions throughout the process of us picking our music and setting up our venue. He kept in constant communication with us during the whole time even when it looked like weather was going to be an issue. During the day Doug and the photographer that we hired through his service showed up on early and got all set up and helped with anything else that we needed to get setup before the ceremony. There were a couple of hiccups with the power source/generator that I had borrowed from a friend, but Doug was completely professional and at no time did he get stressed or show any type of unprofessional-ism. He also handled any of the last minute curve balls that we through at him during the reception. His prices are extremely reasonable and he is willing to work with you on price. He also provides other services other than wedding DJ like photography and video-graphy services.

Joe was amazing! We found him very last minute and we're so glad he was available. Gabe and I came from WV/OH to get married in Las Vegas and found Joe the day before the ceremony. He asked what time to be there and that was basically it. I felt like we should have more to say but he took care of everything. We had another photographer there and they worked well with and around each other. It took about two days to get a trailer style movie of our wedding day. Two days! And it is incredible and definitely exceeded my expectations. I'm overwhelmed with the talent and care put into our video. I haven't received all of the footage yet but we were just married on Friday. I can't wait to see the ceremony.

Great SEO/ marketing company! We tried several ones to help our small service company grow. One was inexpensive, but they were inexpensive for a reason. It's because they were overseas and barely spoke English. They also used tactics that ended up hurting us in the long run. So, of course, we decided to go with a more expensive company. They did NOT take care of us very well because they had higher end Clients that took priority over us. We tried independent consultants on UpWork. Yea, we ran into a lot of issues of unprofessionalism, inefficiency, lack of communication, etc. Then, we discovered MarketYou from a friend. During our consultation, Karl did an excellent job listening, getting to know our business and outlining what he thought was the right path for us. Even if we didn't sign up with him, he still offered video tutorials for us to view, offered to run an audit for our website/FB Ads/AdWords to see how we can improve upon it at no extra charge. Who does that!? MarketYou does because they're confident in their business and service. They want to see people succeed and realize you don't have to charge an arm and a leg to make that possible. Our task was specifically to rise in organic Google rankings for our specific search words. So, unlike other providers, we were not offered social media or other things that would not assist our specific goal. Importantly, they are effective. I can see our website rising in the ranks when I search. We have increased in traffic since we started working with them last year. Although it did take time, which Karl and his team communicated this to us, we were able to see RESULTS. They also redid our website to make it SEO friendly at a very reasonable fee because they knew it would make their work more fruitful. MarketYou will help set you up for a win! Lastly, the main reason for the 5-star review is that Karl actually CARES ABOUT US SUCCEEDING! He cheers with us when something great happens and we can call him anytime to discuss these great accomplishments. He is responsive and helpful when I have a problem or question. I highly recommend MarketYou!

Everyone tells you that your wedding day goes by in a flash - they aren't kidding. I felt like I missed so much because my eyes were so focused on my groom and not crying. Thankfully Swoon (Cody) was there to catch all those special moments and details that I would have never caught. And he is sneaky! I didn't even notice him nor did the photographer; they worked in perfect harmony like a polished team despite having only met that day. Each was able to get amazing shots without conflicting with the other. The video he created captured the feel of the day and was so perfect that I started crying (again) when I got to view it. Cody worked with me on my ideas and song choices and managed to get everything I would want to remember into 4 minutes - including a very important kiss from my father that meant the world to me to have videoed (I didn't even tell him how special that moment would be for me, it's like he just knew). He is beyond professional and still comfortable enough to not stick out - almost like he was a cousin of mine, he just blended in while getting work done. His pricing was beyond reasonable for the final product; I would have paid double if I'd known it would end up so wonderful. I'm so happy that I was able to have Swoon video my special day! I would gladly recommend them to anyone and everyone looking to capture special moments or just needing video work done (I plan on using them again at the first chance I get!). I can't wait to share my wedding video with friends and have them "swoon" over the perfection of it all.

I've been putting off writing this review because I didn't know what to write. When I selected 4Spades they had no reviews yet. However, I decided to take a chance because the price was within budget and we really wanted a wedding video. There were technical difficulties and I didn't end up with one of the things that I wanted which was a full video of my ceremony. However, the highlight video is awesome and I love it! It takes me right back to that day every time I watch it! I think 4Spades learned from what went wrong and will hopefully put in place some backups to prevent the same difficulties that were encountered during my wedding. In hindsight I wish I would have asked a family member to video with their phone though, that would have been a good backup plan for me to make sure the ceremony was captured but I didn't think I needed it. Overall, I really appreciated working with 4Spades - they put in long hours to capture all the moments and they communicated very well at all times. I would recommend them and I'd probably still choose them if I had to do it again but I'd put some backup plans in place to make sure I got everything. 4Spades really tried to accommodate and help me get what I wanted and when they couldn't deliver - they did discount my package which I thought was fair. I know the problem we had wasn't on purpose. Technical difficulties happen and hopefully everyone can learn from it. I'm sure with each wedding they will just get better and better!

My husband and I needed a video done for our 30 year anniversary. Antoine got to our house before the party started, with two backpacks full of camera gear. He was fun to work with and we couldn't have asked for a better video than that! This is a memory we'll be able to go back to as many times as we want.

All I can say is Absolutely Stunning!! The dedication and care that W.Cortez Media put into creating our wedding video just pours out by just watching it. They were great with communication, flexible, and worked with our schedule without a problem. The quality of their work is outstanding! My family has shown the trailer to many of their friends and they thought they were being shown a professional Wedding Commercial. Many times my Mother had to tell them that it was her daughter's wedding video and the reactions were priceless! We have received so many compliments and are super proud to show off the beautiful work that W.Media Cortez produced! At first, my husband was hesitant to even hire a professional videographer and wanted to go the "cheap route" and just get a good ol' camcorder and just have family record it. LOL! Thank goodness we managed to talk him out of it! He was still iffy but after he saw the videos, he was sooo happy and grateful that I didn't back down. W.Cortez Media's video of our wedding had us both in tears of joys. They captured so many emotional moments and it just helped us relive our entire wedding day! I can't express enough how thankful and filled to the brim with joy I am with the video they created! Thank you again to the wonderful team at W.Cortez for working so hard in capturing our wedding day so perfectly! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I highly recommend W.Cortez Media for all your videography and photography needs! You will not be disappointed at all. Their level of dedication, professionalism, and eye for detail show through their hard work 100%.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

When do you pay your wedding videographer and wedding photographer?

Most wedding videographers and photographers require a set deposit when you hire them. Wedding season is a busy time and a deposit secures that vendor’s services for your wedding date. It also protects the vendor if the couple changes their mind at the last minute, and they can’t find a new booking and lose work for the day. The deposit may be anywhere from 20 percent to  50 percent of the agreed-upon total price. Always get a written confirmation that your deposit has been received.

The remainder of the wedding videography and photography bill may be due in the week before to your wedding or on the day of the wedding. Other vendors may require a second payment immediately before the wedding and a third and final payment after the wedding video or photos are delivered. Each vendor has their own policies, so before hiring be sure to read, understand and agree to payment protocols. There is no requirement for tipping wedding videographers or photographers, but if you do want to tip them, the end of the reception is the appropriate time.

How much is videography for a wedding?

Wedding videography is one thing many couples regret not paying for. It may seem like just another expense during wedding planning, but it’s really special to have a moving memory of your big day. The national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. Pricing can vary depending on wedding length, special film features, the amount of editing required, and how many videographers are needed to cover the event. Many videographers offer packages that provide different levels of service. A very simple wedding documentary could be $600 or more, while a full-scale cinematic experience involving multiple videographers could be $2,500 or more. Here’s an example of average package pricing:

    • Package 1: $1,400
      • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
      • Two cameras with audio equipment.
      • DVD including a 3- or 4-minute edit to a song of the couple’s choice and a 45- to 50-minute raw edit covering the entire event.
      • Recordings of guests’ good wishes to the couple.
    • Package 2: $1,800
      • Includes everything from Package 1, plus an additional videographer (2 total) and aerial videography.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
