I was having a party and realized the night before my main guest bathroom toilet was leaking badly. Thumbtack was my only late night option & the first responder gave me a reasonable price and could schedule the very next morning. J.R. Texted when he was enroute, worked diligently taking my tank and Bowl apart to discover I needed seals/gaskets not s new toilet, fixed the problem, charged me less than his quote and my day is on schedule! Thank you for an outstanding job I will definitely keep your number on standby!
Let me tell you in was a total pleasure dealing with Gaitan's Drywall. We are in the process of remodeling our bathroom and needed new Sheetrock and Green Board installed. Moises and company did a superb job during the instatllation and texturing process. Every time I needed to call the company Flor was so responsive with returning all messages. I plan on two more remodels and will definitely use this fine company again. Their prices are extremely reasonable and they are a truly professional business.
I am so "Lucky" to have found Vic on Thumbtack. His knowledge and efficiency completing my list of "to-do's" was excellent. He arrived right on time and immediately got to work installing 2 ceiling fans and a bathroom vanity light. An added bonus is that his fees are very reasonable and fair. I know exactly who I will turn to for help from now on...thank you, Vic.
Joel was not only professional, but extremely proficient in his duty. Since he has such a strong background in construction, with a detailed concentration in plumbing, he masterfully completed our project in no time. Joel's response time with a quote was quite quick, he completed our request of a toilet installation the same day we requested his services, he provided an invoice, with a warranty, and the friendliest demeanor, I have come across. I would definitely be hiring this young man again, should I be in need of his services and MOST DEFINITELY, recommend him for projects that other's may have, within his field.
I brought Ken in to analyze a leak in my roof. We moved into the home a year ago & replaced the old HVAC with a new Carrier 16 seer 2 stage variable speed AC/Furnace right away. A couple months later it rained & we had water leaking into our master bdrm closet. We then had a new roof put on. Six months later we had another big rain. This time leaving water damage in our master bath. I was stunned & didn't know what to do. Ken then assessed it all, he came to the conclusion he could not help & didn't charge anything - however I gave him some money just because he was right, honest & took the time. He suggested it was the curb/foundation on the HVAC. I called the HVAC company, which was very capable with superior service. They came out promptly and assessed the problem & are taking care of it. They made the mistake when installing it, & did not shore up the curb/foundation properly. In summary, when it rained all of it went into the HVAC & into our home. They are now filing an insurance claim on their company & coming with a crane to lift the HVAC up, shore up the sheet metal on the curb/foundation & reset it back. They will reimburse us for moisture mitigation, all new insulation, new drywall in the ceiling bathroom & whatever else... Literally, a few $$K dollars. All will be fixed at great expense by the HVAC company because of a simple mistake....WOW.
I am in the process of selling my home. During the home inspection the large built in jetted tub in the master bathroom leaked extreme amounts of water into the garage. I called all over town and nobody wanted to help me. I explained my problem to Jasson and he came over the same day and was able to diagnose and fix the problem. Jason is just an excellent person and he will be the first person I call the next time I need a repair.
Very personable, professional and proficient in replacing the entire roof to my house, which is a large roof, as well as installing solar skylight tubes for my bathrooms. Everything looks great! My husband and I are so happy with their work that we have also retained them to build out a roof over our back patio. When we informed him that our roof A/C's had problems, he promptly contacted someone to repair those also. We highly recommend Diego Vexina and his men, they are quick, efficient, pleasant to work with, do good work and the costs are reasonable.
Hired them to do a number of jobs & I couldn't have been happier with the results! The jobs I had them do were as follows: painting the living room walls, the bathroom, kitchen cabinets and a few doors. I also had them to clean the living room carpet. Their work was terrific! The place literally has a much nicer feel when I walk in the front door. The work was done fast and efficiently. I'd highly recommend them, if you've got a few projects you need done at your home. Two thumbs way way up!
Joe is responsive, professional (but very friendly) and obviously takes great pride in his work. This job involved removing and replacing some pretty "vintage" bathroom fixtures. Thanks to Joe for a job well done!
I accepted Gil's proposal based on the fact that he mentioned he had no overhead, like the bigger, more corporate companies, and therefore could be more fairly priced around my budget. I was very specific about everything I wanted to do, during our meeting, and I even wrote down an agreement with a list of everything I expected. I mentioned that I would like to physically go along with him to buy paints and baseboards, when it came time. We agreed on 30% upfront and 70% upon proper completion of all listed work. I'll list my experiences by positives and negatives: -Positives: Gil is quick to respond to messages and texts, he offered ideas as to how we could tackle the project. He's got a gentle soul, and he's a nice and respectful person. Our agreement in summary: Pop corn removal/texture application, includes planning, equipment, materials, area prep, roll/finish texture (Orange Peel) Every ceiling removed of pop corn. Wallpaper Removal/Glass removal. Includes everything plus setup and cleanup. Interior House Painting, scrape, sand, patch holes, defects, roll/spray or brush all walls, and all ceilings removed of wallpaper. Everything included, except cost of paint (which we were going to buy together) Knocking down 2 walls, to open up the rooms (Kitchen and livingroom/diningroom installing baseboards around the whole house. I gave him 30% as agreed. The first issue is, some wallpapers weren't removedas agreed, in the dining room, they were painted over instead, and when i realized this, I brought it up to Gil. He did rectify the issue, but I was sore at the fact that it wasn't done properly the first time around. The kitchen wall wasn't torn down and opened as I requested, and Gil mentioned that there was a load bearing issue. I feel others have done this successfully, and he should have been able to offer a solution, instead, we turned it into a window/bar situation, (which added costs, because now I had to hire someone else to make a bar, and i wasn't given a break on the price) The job took a lot longer than I was promised. I Hired gil on May 5th, and it wasn't completed until around the 19th. The master bedroom wasn't all done to satisfaction, because of some unforeseen circumstances, and all the mirrors which I'd mentioned to be disposed off, are still in my garage, and I believe Gil has left it up to me to dispose of them, which wasn't our agreement The spray painting was good enough, but every single door frame has paint unevenly bleeding into its edges. I don't feel proper prep time was dedicated to the edges and lines. I've had to hire someone else to come paint the frames, to clean them up. The wallpaper removal was very impressive, and I bet time consuming. He removed all the wallpaper as requested, the only issue I see with that is, the surface wasn't smoothed out properly, and some areas on the wall especially towards the floor, are a little rough. Altogether, commendable work. The baseboards weren't painted before installation, and I wasn't informed that this would make it difficult to paint, in the future. Having hired someone else to do the painting, it costs so much more. The installation was fantastic, everything fits, and everything is smooth, and properly caulked and ready for painting. I was never told when the paints were bought, yet, i had to reimburse for the purchases, and I still haven't found any of the cans. -The closets weren't prepped properly, and have uneven paint lines going to them, and at the corners and edges, the pop corn texture still shows. I think if they were not going to paint the closets, they should have covered it properly. Although some things were left in less than good condition, for the most part, everything was done beautifully, we didn't go over my budget, but we also took short cuts on some things that were agreed, mostly because I felt they took a little longer than I'd hoped, and by the end of it all, I was just ready for them to be done, so I could get back to my life. Overall, I'm satisfied with the job that was done, for the budget.
Jim did about 50 ft baseboard installation and painted. Very happy with his work He arrived promptly and is a great guy. He is a consummate pro
Matt has done several projects for me and I have been completely satisfied with his work. His carpentry work is excellent. He built a 3 piece window seat in my kitchen nook. After that major project I called him back for additional work. He repaired all of my maple captains chairs that I have had for over 30 years. He hung new kitchen and bathroom lights and installed cabinets and shelves in my garage. Matt did some minor repairs including, repairing 2 doors and installing new hardware in my bathrooms and kitchen. He also hung my Christmas lights, took special care to wrap the strips, and ensured no cords were on the lawn. Great job! I think the one thing that most impressed me about Matt was the time I asked him about another job I needed done, and he told me that was not something he handled. He is totally honest about what he can do and will advise you to seek help outside his expertise. Matt is very professional, he arrives on time, meets his deadlines, and is all about meeting and/or exceeding his client expectations. I would highly recommend him.
I had Mike install a bathroom faucet. he was was accommodating to meet my scheduling needs and was there on time. He did a great job and was quick. a very pleasant experience!
Rechaulked bathroom tub and baseboards
I had a number of projects around my new house that I needed help with and found Jeremy Bertrand of Knight Carpentry & Construction through Thumbtack. Jeremy was absolutely wonderful. He accomplished everything from moving curtain rods that had been hung in the wrong place to repairing walls with anchors left in them to installing a dimmer switch and bathroom fixtures. He was extremely punctual, polite and a perfectionist in his work. He's also very experienced in home building and remodeling and able to do all types of repairs and remodeling in the home. I highly recommend him.
I have officially found my go to tile guy!! My new bathroom floor looks beautiful. Thank you Tony for doing a great job and working around the few issues I had. I will definitely hire for future projects.
Outstanding work tiling my guest bathroom. Will recommend them to all my friends.
I really needed to update my tired old bathroom. Top Notch gave me floor to ceiling tile and crown molding. We weren’t able to find a small enough vanity for the space that had our desired double sink, so he fixed up the cabinet, added a granite top that is beautiful and bowl sinks with lovely high faucets.
Peter did a fabulas job on my bathroom and kitchen remodel. Punctual, clean and certainly a guy who I would hire again. I love my kitchen and my bathroom it is even better then I imagined!
Carter, helped me with an extensive remodel of my home in 2016. His work included upgrades and installation of a complete kitchen plumbing package, mosaic tile kitchen backsplash, two new bath vanities including tile backsplashes and tile floors, new decorative baseboard throughout the home, laminate flooring throughout, new water heater, etc. I have used Carter for smaller repair projects subsequent to the remodel and he always does great work, ARRIVES ON TIME, cleans up before he leaves, and pays attention to detail.
Had wood floors and baseboards installed. Disappointed could not start the next day due to other commitments. Definitely worth the wait , my floors are beautiful! I highly recommend.
