FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In our field, you must be constantly learning, absorbing, and staying abreast of the new trends. I attend continuing education seminars as often as I can and I scour the internet and trade publications for information and resources on a daily basis.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I always was drawn to interior design, even as a child. I loved moving the furniture around in my bedroom (much to my mother's dismay)! I graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a B.A. in Psychology and minor in Women's Studies. After a few years in the social services sector, I started to yearn for a more creative outlet. I started taking interior design courses at my local community college and my childhood love was rekindled! I realized that interior design was my life's path and I started down the road and never looked back!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I think the most common dilemma I hear from my clients is the ability to "tie it all together." Most people know what style they like or what suits them, they have strong opinions on color, fabrics, textures, etc. However, it's pulling all those details together into a cohesive, unified and aesthetically pleasing whole that people struggle with the most!
