Aardwolf's person arrived as promised, cleaned our translucent patio roof, removing the old and ineffective caulk, and then ran caulk throughout, while also applying fasteners to ensure that the roof was completely secure in high winds. Aardwolf's workman was knowledgeble, thorough, and left the place pristine. We were completely pleased and would recommend Aardwolf for any job similar to ours.
Erik was extremely quick to respond and highly reliable. Very happy with his work (tiling & installing under cabinetry lighting).
I'll summarize this by saying this was the best experience I have ever had working with a contractor, and Capital Contractors will have my business for any project moving forward. My project was to have a pallet wall installed behind a bar area in my finished basement/man cave. That idea grew to also installing pallet wood around an island, and behind a dart board down there as well. I received several responses over Thumbtack and seriously considered three of the companies. While the estimates were all reasonable, my decision to go with Capital Contractors came down to the obvious pride A.J. McDonald and his partner Kris took in their work. They were passionate and excited as we talked through my vision, and were open completing the job however I wanted. They were true to their word in their attention to detail. Their craftsmanship was second to none, and they left a spotless work area. To top it off A.J. and Kris seem like legitimate and sincere good guys - very likable and trustworthy. Long story short, from the estimate through the completed project, Capital Contractors exceeded my expectations at every turn. I am offering my highest recommendation to family, friends, and anyone reading this. Normally I use Thumbtack to find multiple estimates for a given job, but in this case I found THE company I will be hiring for any project I need done moving forward.
I had quite the punch list to ready a rental property to be shown. Not only did Marty meet me immediately to review the scope of work, he had a quote turned around within 24 hours. Marty and his team worked in an organized fashion, around existing tenants, to make quick work replacing molding, repairing electrical fixtures, and installing pre-hung doors. Mary and his son come highly recommended, and we will be using them again.
Adam removed a ceiling from my old kitchen. This revealed hand hewn beams ( from 1850 ). Then he installed beautiful hand painted tin between the beams. He also made the corner trim to finish the look. A huge improvement to make a kitchen fit the period in which the house was built. Adam also recommended an over the stove microwave .This was a great idea to make more room on the counter. In addition we took out the small window & installed a 4 foot garden window. I am thrilled with the result.
Greg rebuilt our front porch deck, added a new railing and stair and repainted the porch floor and ceiling. He also replaced the roof and replaced a pantry ceiling.
Project: • Complete Bathroom remodel. Gut to studs, remove a small closet partition. Planned Additional: • Install a hot water heater and configure the natural gas plumbing as required • Install a natural gas dryer and configure the natural gas plumbing as required • Hardwired smoke / CO detectors on every floor Unplanned additional: • Structural assessment and installation of a header to carry the weight of free hanging rafters from previous owners remodel. • Upgrading the houses mainline for the plumbing system from ½ to ¾ pipe. (Hot and cold water) Small on the spot fixes FoC • Stuck door repair – fixed several doors that were binding in the house. • Helped remove the dishwasher for servicing • Helped install / repair 2nd bathroom hardware • Helped unload my truck a few times as I was moving stuff over from my apt. Bill and the crew at Freehold Enterprises are nothing short of phenomenal. They have given me a quite high end bathroom for a bargain price, while making sure all the systems and services are safe and up to code. Insured? – Yes, and he had his Insurance Agent email me over proof of insurance within 30mins of it being requested. Courteous?– without fail throughout the entire job. Ethicial and moral?- without a doubt. He is upfront and bluntly honest. He lives the Holmes on Homes motto of “Make it Right” and “Just like I’d do it in my own house.” Communication? – while I was away on vacation in Singapore, he kept me up to date on the projects progress weekly sending me multiple pictures and kept me apprised of any issues. Cleanliness / Concern for the Non work areas – Bill papered and plastic’ed what seems 3/4s of the house in order to avoid any possible scratches to the hardwood floors or dust getting places where it shouldn't be. Any minor cosmetic damage that occurred during his work he made sure were made good; such as pressure washing the back patio where he was working and touching up the trim paint damage from his tape. The project detailed ripping out the existing ½ bath and bathroom closet for the installation of a shower and full bathroom remodel. There was an additional constraint that we would be out of the country for two weeks and wanted the project done while we were gone. Bill contacted me through Thumbtack and was courteous and detailed in his phone survey of the project. He was punctual in his arrival for the on-site job survey and he impressed me with his knowledge and willingness to work with our requirements and budget. We had our written and itemized estimate in hand 3 days later. After reviewing all collected estimates we chose to go with Bill and Freehold. That evening we met at home depot and decided on a color pallet and hardware styles. During the conversation and listening to Bill describe how he planned to stretch our budget, we decided to go ahead and give Bill full design control. The end product did not let us down. We gave him key and went off on our trip. While we were gone, Bill sent us continuous updates with photos explaining what was going on. He handled and repaired several unplanned for issues in stride and kept us updated on those; the header and house leveling for the unsupported rafters and the need to upgrade the mainline for the plumbing. Along the way he handled several other minor things as they came up; some stuck doors, installation of hardwired smoke detectors and some lights, etc. Due to both the planned and unplanned extras, we ran slightly over on time and budget, and had to move in while Bill was still finishing up. He worked with us to create minimal disturbance to our lives and routines. The finished product was worth the wait. His tile design and choices were gorgeous. The bathroom is beautiful and now out classes the rest of the house. We love it. Then to top it all off, since we had gone slightly over budget he was willing to work with us on the final payment. We highly recommend Bill and Freehold for your next project and plan to continue using him ourselves for additional projects on this and other properties. Feel free to contact me with any questions regarding this review and project: Stormer@frontiernet.net Sincerely, Jason Emans
I needed the exposed wood from my roof covered because carpenter bees were tearing it up. I wanted it to be white and metal. Butchy, gave me a way better price than another company and the work was superb. He did it all in a day and my house looks great.
Norm and his crew came into our office and did a spectacular job in installing doors and touchup painting. He even did things we asked that were not on the scope of work. Very Satisfied. Everyone was respectable and efficient.
Warren did an amazing job renovating my downstairs bathroom after pipes burst this winter. The new tile shower that he installed is gorgeous, and he was a very helpful and trustworthy person to work with. Highly recommend!
Emil and Bubba (yes, Bubba) installed a front fence and gate for me, which replaced one that was falling apart. They measured it, got the parts, and installed it all in the same day! I went from inquiring on Thumbtack to having a new working gate in less than 24 hours. I'm pleased to recommend them.
Mr. Reis is highly skilled at all aspects of home renovation, from structural repairs to cosmetic finishes and everything in between. In our old house he has replaced beams, installed a new bathroom, insulated and installed new walls and ceiling in two bedrooms, trued a sagging roof and installed new slate tiles, and painted interior and exterior walls -- all with great efficiency and results. He is unfailingly honest, listens to our wishes, and is not afraid to suggest improvements. A real pleasure to work with.
Joseph recently poured a concrete floor in my basement, in Saratoga Springs. It is a turn of the century home, and he really went beyond my expectations, excavating a large amount of the existing dirt floor, and installing new piers, before pouring the floor. The job was done in a timely manner, and his finished product and clean up were exactly what he promised. I have since recommended Hoe to a number of friends and family, and will continue to do so.
Neil Peterson did an outstanding job! He created access to the attic in our house by cutting and framing an opening in our upstairs ceiling and then installed stairs. He also did finishing work so that the installation blended perfectly with the decor of the rest of the house. He was very professional, courteous, excellent in his attention to details and charged very reasonably. I would hire him for future work without hesitation.

We do all phases of home improvements, including buildings, garages, pole barns, etc. We have a clean appearance. We aim to please.
We are a small company that is very detail oriented.
I do installation of all types of roofing: metal, tile, single ply, and shingles. You name it; I've done it. I provide a good, clean service.
I do anything -- from arborist, fence building and maintenance, sewing ruff, lumber cutting to building furniture. I was born and raised on a dairy farm, and it has taught me everything. I am also nationally certified in running heavy equipment, clearing trees and storm cleanup.
My father has been in the roofing trade for over 30 years, and I have been up on the roof with him ever since I was brave enough to climb up the ladders. There are few people who enjoy the job, but I am not one of them. I take great pride in seeing the customer pleased with my work, and I can only get better as the years go on.
