Best experience that I've ever had with movers. Fast, efficient, friendly. They wraped all my furniture in blankets, did disassembly and reassembly. i'm very satisfied with their service. Will definitely use them again.

Moving with SEKA was a breeze. The guys moved fast, without wasting any time, and the whole process was over in 3 hours. I was especially impressed with them navigating 3 flights of stairs, up and down, in an old NYC walk-up building, with clunky pieces of furniture. Our furniture has survived without a single scratch, because SEKA movers wrapped everything so well. Overall, I am very pleased and will recommend SEKA to anyone.

These guys were great! We were moving a bedroom set, outdoor furniture, about 50+ boxes and a few miscellaneous pieces of furniture. They moved everything in less than 2 hours - quite impressive. Nothing was damaged - and everything was moved into the correct rooms. By far the best movers I've ever had.

Class act guys. We hired in Ridgewood for moving some furniture in and out. Dariusz was a gentleman and he and his counterpart turned up on time with all the right equipment and were friendly and professional. Job ended up being a bit more complex than anticipated (to get a dresser up the stairs, he had to take a door off hinges and back into the closet to make it fit), but they took it in stride with great humor. Highly recommend.

Prompt and good communication. They were able to help with one furniture piece but the other, unfortunately didn’t work out. Not their fault, but just a bummer we couldn’t solve an issue. Pay was fair.

Austin was so helpful during my preparations for our move and then getting us set up in the new apartment. He removed televisions and remounted them, took down chandeliers, put furniture back together again. No job was too big or small for him. Will definitely use him again.

These guys were absolutely phenomenal. 10 stars. They were available quickly, were proactive about scheduling and ensuring they were ready to go when I was ready, and did a fantastic, careful, and courteous job. My project was for them to pick up a bunch of furniture from IKEA and RC Willey in Draper, in their own truck. They called me in advance of the pickup time I had requested, they met me on time (early, actually), they carried everything carefully and securely, and they were just excellent to work with, always with a smile. On top of all that, they offered to put together the furniture as well if I wanted, they did an excellent job of that (my new sectional looks awesome thanks to them), and when all was finished, they conservatively estimated their time spent -- from when they actually started the project, not including their travel time and waiting for me to be ready so they could get started. I can't believe how excellent these guys were. Just phenomenal. Trustworthy, considerate, effective. An unbelievable value. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. Thank you!

Used Ample for my move from NJ -> NYC and they were fantastic. They showed up at 8:15am and got right to work. Before I knew it, all of the boxes were moved, and they were beginning to tape up the rest of my furniture. They used great care in moving everything, and consulted me when they thought something needed extra attention and packaging. Once we arrived at the new apartment, the unloading process was just a quick and efficient as the packing process. Overall, it took less time than I expected. All of the guys were friendly, professional and hard working. Would absolutely recommend them!

My girlfriend who lives in Yonkers stays with me for most of the week except Sundays when she goes back to spend time with her parents. So the natural process was to let her move into the spare bedroom I had. Our only problem is that her floor within her parent's house was full of quality furniture, which is both heavy and very precious to her. Neither of us really have the money to buy everything anew especially considering the attachment she had with it. My co-worker recommended Blue Moving because they helped her father move a few weeks ago. I reached out expecting a sales pitch or a flat fee that would bound to take a hike the moment we paid a deposit. Instead, we spoke with Stefan who calmly explained the entire process and gave us all of the available options. I have a very busy schedule to go to Yonkers and help her pack all of her stuff along with the furniture. Luckily, the pretty much "white glove" service included movers who gently stashed the couch, recliner, dresser, a full entertainment center, workbench and a few chairs along with peripherals needed together with her mountain of clothes and collection of childhood dolls (don't ask). My biggest stress was making sure that the movers arrived on time as I work split shifts requiring for me to be at work at a specific hour for a night shift. To my surprise, the movers were literally within 10 minutes of expected arrival. Not only but they quickly moved everything in, unpacking the materials before placing the furniture exactly where we told them. These guys didn't seem to be bodybuilders or weight lifters of any kind but somehow they were able to balance everything without making dents in either the walls or the items themselves. Did I forget to mention that I live on the third floor of a walk-up without an elevator? The final touch: at the very end of it, as if by magic (it was probably a text, but play along here) the owner Stefan calls me to ask whether everything was to our satisfaction, which was obviously surpassed at this point. He thanked us for our business and mentioned that if any damages were discovered at a later time that he's just a phone call away. To anyone reading this: dealing with Blue Moving felt more like having a group of friends come over and help out with the move with the added bonus of not drinking your alcohol after or burning your microwave (a story for another time).

My move was a bit complicated the sofabed did not fit through the door, Eyaury of Furniture assembly and movers, to the rescue, he had the tools and knowledge, to both take apart the couch to fit through the door and put it back together. He had a wonderful attitude and was a pleasure to deal with. I would use his services again in a snap.

Ivan was quick to jump on a call once I posted my task. He was early, so friendly, and did the job quickly with a great attitude. I can tell Ivan is a boss and a complete professional! I would definitely hire him for future jobs, and have already hired him next week to help me put some furniture together.

Made move seamless and painless, packed remaining loose items, packed clothes into hangar boxes. Both movers came prepared and experienced with managing and loading items/furniture in and out of the truck. Treated items with care, nothing broke after unpacking, even the glass items. I would definitely hire them again for my next move! Keep up the good work :)

What a pleasure to work with them! I needed someone to move my furniture out of my bedroom and into my living room to have carpet put down. To say the furniture was heavy is an understatement, but they moved it and with a smile! They were able to help with a few pieces in a very timely fashion. I would recommend them to anyone!

Will is extremely conscientious and detail oriented about protecting whatever you are moving. Resourceful in figuring out how to overcome obstacles that arise. A whiz at putting furniture back together. He also fixed the wobble in my desk which was driving me crazy. And he's a really nice guy!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much should you tip furniture movers?

Moving furniture is hard work and potentially dangerous unless you’re properly equipped. For anyone not ready to handle their heavy oak armoire alone, professional furniture movers can safely and efficiently move your items to another room in your house or across town as needed. The national average cost to hire heavy furniture movers is $150-$200 per hour. This rate could include multiple furniture movers working as a team to move items such as beds, armoires, billiards tables, pianos, shelves, tables, entertainment centers and more. Hourly rates can vary by region. If your furniture movers have arrived on time, done a great job, kept your home and belongings protected from scratches and dings, and completed the move as planned, a tip will be greatly appreciated. Moving companies suggest approximately 10 percent of the total bill as gratuity for those doing local moving jobs, which is also a good guideline for tipping heavy furniture movers. If the total bill for heavy moving was $100 and two workers were onsite, consider giving them $10 total, or $5 each for a job well done.
