Introduction: Wouldn't you like to find some freedom in your voice? How about working with a teacher you are excited to see and feel comfortable around? With one free trial lesson I can give you the chance to find both of these things! As a teacher, I am most interested in helping my students find a healthy and sustainable way of singing that best utilizes their natural sound. I believe that this is found through a balanced airflow and raised resonance awareness. Recently, I finished my master's degree in vocal pedagogy and vocal performance, as well as an advanced certificate in vocal pedagogy. I have 10 plus years of teaching and performance experience in all styles and genres of music. I have also taught private and group voice classes at NYU as an Adjunct Faculty member. Student references are available upon request.

I've taken voice lessons for nearly 10 years and as a result have had a number of different teachers, but I feel my voice is the strongest and most stable it has ever been after studying with Katie. She hits the nail on the head with her visuals - unlike other instruments, you can't see what you're playing when you sing, so being able to understand what your teacher is getting at is crucial to the process. Katie far surpasses any teacher I've had in this way. Aside from her solid vocal and teaching skills, she's a joy to be around. Voice lessons are a much more pleasant experience when your teacher makes you feel comfortable enough to laugh at your own mistakes, brush them off, and go for it again. There is literally no judgment in the room - only encouragement and construction. I absolutely would (and have in the past) recommend Katie to beginner and advanced students.

I have had many voice teachers and Katie has got to be the most helpful and most articulate teacher ive had. Singing is easier than it has ever been for me. She is patient and understanding. She emphasises vocal health and process versus product. I would describe her as extremely passionate, dedicated, and most important, kind. You will not regret taking lessons from her.

The great thing about Katie is that she makes you feel comfortable during the lesson. You won't feel like you're being judged, and this is really important if you're just starting out! She's a lot of fun to work with. Katie also does a great job in helping in visualize what goes on when you're singing, which helps you think about how to improve/bring out your voice. Definitely worth it!
