- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Don't be afraid to ask questions! In addition to sounding good, professionalism and experience are things you should be looking for in a musical entertainer. It's best to nail down details (like performance time and length, special song requests, technical needs for sound equipment and where set up will take place, etc) well in advance of your event so that there is no confusion or stress on the day of. A professional will be happy to discuss these details with you at length so that you both feel comfortable with the final agreement.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
A great deal of practice and preparation goes into what performing musicians do. For every performance, there is also hours of behind-the-scenes work that includes learning and practicing new material, maintaining our skill on our instruments (including vocal chords) through daily exercises and preparations to make sure our gear and instruments stay in good condition and that the set runs smoothly. Musicians are craftspeople - know that we are putting in even more energy than you see to make sure we sound great for you.
