Introduction: Hello!
I'm Kate, a visual artist with a passion for helping others learn about creative practice and reach their artistic goals. I worked with children as a studio assistant before becoming a private art instructor and enjoy engaging students in discussion about their work, and encouraging growth in whatever medium they prefer.
My method of teaching is to identify goals with students, and help them develop their artistic skills and voice accordingly with the use of customized lesson plans and projects.
I specialize in drawing, painting, and digital art (procreate + photoshop) - and love to help develop comic book projects, illustrations, technical drawing skills, as well as painting skills for beginners or intermediate learning artists of all ages.

My daughter took a one hour zoom lesson with Kate. Prior to the class, Kate spoke with Madison over the phone to see what she was interested in to tailor a lesson plan specific to what she wanted to learn. My daughter had fun, really liked Kate, and learned a lot. I have set up monthly hour long sessions going forward.

I came to kate for drawing lessons with my daughter , we had an amazing time , she had taught us both a beautiful outline piece for a watercolor because that was what my daughter wanted. Couldn’t be happier with the outcome , she was very friendly and took her time to explain everything!
