Introduction: My name is Valeria Picerno. I am a New York based personal stylist and certified image consultant working with both men and women.
I was born and raised in Milan, Italy where I grew up working in the fashion industry. When I moved to New York, I started working in film as a costume designer as a way to better understand how clothes influence the perception that we have of characters, and apply the same methods to my individual clients.
I love helping people discovering their authentic style, and see the increased confidence and success that come with it, whether is for business, social or romantic purposes.
My experience in film taught me how to dress people of all shapes and sizes, so I am confident I can help you get dressed too!

Valeria is highly talented, with an incredible eye for fit and proportion. She really opened my eyes to how clothing should fit me and empowered me to make my own purchase decisions with so much more confidence now that I have learned these skills. and friends and family have really noticed! I get so many compliments now, whereas in the past no one really noticed how I dressed. People also think I lost weight, but it is mainly due to my clothing fitting me so much better! She came to the table with no pre conceived idea of how I should dress, but really listened and observed how I live and what my needs are as an entrepreneur to craft solutions for me that really express and amplify who I am. I work in television, where everyone is ready to judge your style, but also get inspired by you if you have a strong sense of style. Valeria showed me what colors look best on me, and showed me how different garments communicate different messages. Together we put together several outfits for me to wear in the episodes of a documentary series I was shooting in New York, keeping in mind the variety of people I was going to interview. After my work with Valeria, I am more confident in dressing myself, and I am empowered to find the items that best represent me when I shop. Valeria is someone who can really help you. She is able to perfectly understand who you are and to suggest ways to dress and feel better about yourself, and consequently with others.

When it comes to shopping and feeling good, one must remember to also look good! Upon arriving in USA and settling in Los Angeles it was clear my everyday normal wardrobe was just not going to cut it! So fast forward to some research and bingo, myself along with my brother decided Valeria Picerno stood out as the most qualified and professional out of 5 possible candidates who could have transformed our styles and brought a new funky edge along with it!
For a man the hardest thing is to focus on matching right colours and blending in the bottom with a great shirt or jumper!
Valeria not only made my shopping experience easy, she was able to distinguish from the start what is acceptable and what is not when it comes to being trendy and feeling amazing!
I was overly impressed with Valeria's sense of the huge city and vast knowledge of the most fascinating boutiques available to man and woman to shop in.
The 2 days spent shopping felt like a few minutes, our fast paced movements and location changing pop ups to these stores felt like we have been living in New York for years.
Valeria has that easy set of skills acquired from her world travels to blend in at any store and just make you feel so welcome, this was proven at many locations where her face was recognized and warmly welcome!
We managed to visit a third of the shops intended but I can happily say that both me and my brother walked away with a brand new wardrobe filled with elegance and style and comfort!
Valeria exceeded our expectations and hence being our first ever stylist we can defiantly say it was a memory cherished and we will confine to work with Valeria from now on!

I was never the kind of person who had trouble finding clothes that I wanted to wear, but I can be indecisive sometimes or change my mind after a big shopping trip. Something that Valeria really helped me with was helping me notice the type of clothes that truly look the best on me, regardless of what's the newest, hottest trend. It's easy to gravitate towards what I see other people wearing and want to find something similar, but now I focus on what I know will look right on me, while also trying to stand out or put my own spin on an outfit. Valeria helped me stick to what truly looks best, while also helping me find new colors and patterns to combine that I probably wouldn't have tried without a little push. I can definitely say the tips have helped because my co-workers and friends are now always telling me they love my outfit and it definitely helps me feel great inside and out when I feel great in what I'm wearing.

Valeria gave me a personal styling session that included an in depth interview about my personal goals and style objectives, analysis of coloring, wardrobe review, and styling of a number of professional outfits. She had great advice to offer based on the personal interview that we had, and was able to help me craft a look that matches the image that I wish to create. She is extremely detail oriented, and knowledgable about the effect of style details that never would have occurred to me. Valeria's elegant style and kind, insightful personality make her ideally suited to this kind of work... and we also had a lot of fun together. Highly recommended.
