Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I love to have the opportunity to help others learn something that is so important to me. Music has been the one constant throughout my life and I have spent many years continuing to learn and grow by playing the guitar. I also can relate to the struggles of learning an instrument and enjoy helping someone navigate that process. I think a teacher/mentor is a very important aspect to furthering one's inspiration and ability on an instrument. Being able to provide that guidance and feeling like I'm helping the student achieve their goals is the best part of my job.

I've been playing for a few years as a self taught guitarist and was making slow progress learning gypsy jazz on my own. Without knowing much theory I worried that I was getting in over my head learning gypsy jazz but Jordan's a great teacher and a super nice guy. He's been introducing some theory to our lessons in a way that doesn't feel too intimidating but I get the impression he could take this aspect of learning as far as you like. Jordan is really intuitive in knowing what you want to play and how you learn; my lessons are just challenging enough to keep me on my toes while still being fun. I'd recommend Jordan as a guitar teacher whether you're interested in learning jazz, or anything else. I spent ages thinking I didn't need a guitar teacher because I can already play guitar, but I'm learning more quickly and having a much better time playing guitar than when I was learning alone.

Jordan is totally fluent with the guitar and he's really good at showing you the little things that make playing a song feel natural. I usually just think of a song or a type of song I like (mostly finger picking blues stuff, but he knows everything), he finds it and figures it out by ear right there, and then shows me how to play it. At the end of each session, he'll write the tabs down for me. Sessions are causal and productive.

I'm a moderately experienced gypsy jass amateur. I go to "Django in June" every summer and play only gypsy jazz. I needed help with "la pompe" (the special strumming in gypsy jazz) and Jordan has been and continues to be a great help. He knows a lot more than gypsy jazz - straight jazz, rock, etc., - but he's been great for me.
