FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer discounts for students who purchase bundles of 4 lessons in advance.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I believe in a dynamic teaching approach in which I as a teacher help the student play their music and reach their own specific goals. I don't believe in cookie-cutter curriculum. Therefore, each of my student is taught differently. When starting to work with a new student, I will clarify with them their experience level (strengths and weaknesses) and what are their goals; what is their favorite kind of music, and what songs or skills they would want to learn. Although the basics in playing the guitar are similar for most styles and beginners would often learn a similar set of skills at a similar rate, I would still tailor our lessons accordingly. For example, a student interested in classical music would learn to read sheet music, while a singer-songwriter looking to improve their guitar skills would not start with that.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied at two conservatories and I was a music major while in high school. I've been teaching guitar independently and as a faculty member of several music schools for the past decade.
