Jake Henry Music

Introduction: I'm a professional trumpet/composition/music theory instructor, with over 15 years experience performing, recording and teaching. I hold a B. Mus. degree in Jazz Performance (McGill University) and an M.A. in Jazz Performance (City College of New York). I have studied and worked with with some of the greatest musicians of today and I genuinely love helping others to further their understanding and appreciation of music. I teach all levels and styles in my home in Greenwood Heights, Brooklyn, and can travel to you for a small additional fee. I work diligently with each student on proper technique, solid rhythm, soloing, ear training, and theory, and specialize in finding solutions to issues, theory or technique that students find most difficult to overcome. With comprehensive, unique methods working with your specific abilities, I'm committed to teaching my students the joy of making music. I believe that music is an important part of life, and that by helping people to understand their own potential, they can find in themselves a creative voice that is stronger than they ever expected.
