Guitar Lessons

Ty was and continues to be a very impressive and fun guitar teacher. In the few lessons that I’ve had with him so far, I’ve not only built real skill but mental confidence in my ability to play. Ty is a super nice, understanding and intuitive instructor that wants to see you shine, but also pushes you and challenges you. He’s exactly what I was looking for as a teacher, and can’t wait to see how much more I can improve under his wing!

Guitar Lessons

I was completely stuck in trying to make progress on guitar by myself. Ty really got me out of that slump and I’m enjoying playing more now than ever before!

Guitar Lessons

Ty is an amazing guitar teacher. He is so patient, kind, and thorough in his lessons. Ty is such an affordable teacher too. He's always on time to my apartment and helps with everything from learning new songs to practicing chords. Great guy!

Guitar Lessons

Ty has been excellent so far. We’ve only had two lessons but I already (my son too) love the way he teaches. My son lacks focus at school and he gets bored easily (one of the reasons why it was recommended he takes up music) but Ty makes it fun and engages him. I’ve also noticed that in two short zoom lessons, he’s had a lot of improvement. I hired him temporarily to fill in until his music school is reopened but, honestly, if my son's music learning keeps going so good, I plan on keeping him permanently. So glad I found him.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

BACK TO SCHOOL REMOTE LEARNING SPECIAL: For the month of September I am offering a discounted rate to all new remote students of $25/30min, $35/45min, $45/hr. I've spent all spring and summer honing my skills as an online teacher and I know how to make it work! ALL AGES, ALL SKILL LEVELS, BEGINNERS WELCOME!

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

To start, learn as much as possible about the student and their goals/expectations. Then I can create a lesson plan that is fun, engaging, and designed specifically for that student.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I've been studying the guitar since 1993. I've been performing professionally since 1995, and teaching since 2011. My education and training is entirely based on real world experience, both in performing and teaching. I also took piano lessons for 4 years as a child and have a comprehensive knowledge of musical theory, reading staff, and multiple forms of guitar notation.
