Introduction: At Paula McCoy Studios, we create beautifully tailored interiors for our clients. We believe the home is an extension of ones’ personality, and therefore no two homes should look and feel the same. The studio blends traditional and eclectic design styles - with a modern sensibility - to create interiors that are inviting and highly personalized. We specialize in high-end residential decorating projects, as well as full gut renovations. ABOUT PAULA Paula McCoy is an interior designer living and working in New York City. She is originally from Chicago, but has lived in the City for the past nine years. Paula discovered her passion for design at a young age, working on fashion design projects, but it wasn’t until she moved to San Francisco after college that she decided to become an interior designer. She credits the striking and well-preserved Victorian architecture of the city to her obsession with the interiors of old houses. Inspired by sourcing trips to Mexico and Turkey, Paula has also cultivated a love for vintage textiles and artisan-made home goods. Paula is continuously inspired by classical architecture, natural materials, and weekly sourcing trips throughout New York City. PRESS Paula's work has been featured in Domino, Design Sponge, and Apartment Therapy. I truly enjoy collaborating with my clients to achieve their design goals. Every client is different, and every space is different, which proves to be an exciting and fulfilling challenge for me.

I worked with Paula to decorate my 2br/2bath condo in Crown Heights. She helped me through the entire process, from space planning to selecting art and accessories. I was especially impressed with how she handled the custom aspects of my project like window treatments, specialty paint finishes, and selecting fabrics for furnitures & pillows. She even worked with a furniture maker/woodworker to create a custom-designed dining table/bench set. Oh yea, she did the design :) Paula was very reliable, easy to work with, and super resourceful. I would definitely hire her again for a future project. Thanks Paula!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I assign a flat fee at the start of the project based on the scope of work.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

For new clients, I like to schedule an initial 30-minute design consultation meeting before providing quotes. This allows me to gather all relevant information for the project and determine how we can best work together.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I received my training in Interior Design and Architecture at Parsons The New School, and have worked in the residential design industry for over 7 years. I have experience in both the decorating and renovation aspects of interior design. My specialty is in bathroom design and material / finishes specification.
