Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: The Kings of Karaoke collective has been rocking NYC for almost a decade. Come down and sing songs that no other karaoke team can provide anywhere in the world! Called the best song list time and time again, we have geared our karaoke book specifically to our crowd (and of course the classics everyone can't get enough of) spinning indie rock, metal, punk, hardcore, and even jazz, alt-country, goth, and all other sorts of music you love between the performances. No more uncomfortable dead air between performers, allowing the mood of the event to be set not only by the karaoke songs, but also by the host's personality and the KJ's interstitial spins. The completely computerized system provides for ideal song quality and a no-glitch singing experience, permitting the performers to let loose without worry. This is our bio and how we do things: The Kings of Karaoke began in 2000 with a dream to develop a new style of karaoke event. Fueled by the love of the Japanese art form, we combined the high energy of live band concerts with the canned tracks of the karaoke world. Soon, a Tuesday night party came about in Williamsburg, and after a year of raging and amassing a crew of loyal enthusiasts, the event was brought to the famous East Village dive Lit Lounge (many a celeb had been known to show up and sing), a party which occurred weekly for 7 years! Throughout those years, various venues were added to the weekly menu of karaoke madness. The Kings of Karaoke events finally provided exciting parties for people who previously looked at karaoke as merely something for the toothless lonely hearts (who are also encouraged to attend). The Kings of Karaoke has since enlisted and trained a few friends and dedicated "karaokiers" to keep the tradition alive by extending into a karaoke collective. The DJ/KJ keeps everything running smoothly, maintaining the sign-up list and spinning some of the best underground music between the performers, while the MC motivates the troops to dance and keeps order by the stage. Currently, The Kings of Karaoke runs several weekly karaoke events in NYC using our computerized systems and an ever growing karaoke song list that boasts over 60,000 of the best sounding karaoke tracks, transforming skipping songs and "Casioke" sounds into antiquated concepts. Not to mention, if we don't have a song you like, simply ask the DJ to get it and if they make it for karaoke, we will have it ASAP for you to sing, usually by the next week's party! Our karaoke songbook packs in the classics, modern hits, and songs no other karaoke team in the world has! (Misfits anyone? Descendents?) The Kings of Karaoke provides a festive and often rowdy atmosphere, encouraging the singers to enjoy themselves and the audience to get up out of their seats and dance. Our experience makes all the difference. Press and promotional: The Kings of Karaoke has been mentioned on HBO's Taxi Cab Confessional, as well in print within Rolling Stone, Men's Health Magazine, New York Magazine and in Hit Me With Your Best Shot (a book about karaoke around the world). Almost all events The Kings of Karaoke maintains have received the editor's choice on Going. In 2008 and 2009, the Wednesday night party was rated as the number one thing to do during thanksgiving week in NYC, the biggest bar night of the year! All party listings are featured on MySpace, Facebook and more. As a bonus to providing the best karaoke around, we assist in promoting our events with posters and online invites. Plus, we maintain an email list and distribute flyers when appropriate. The Kings of Karaoke has entertained bigwigs, such as the Sopranos' cast at their holiday party and Star Jones and friends at her birthday jam. They've rocked out the Williamsburg Music Free Festival and the Atlantic Avenue Amble, done parties for companies ranging from fashionistas to foodies and special needs charitable events. Parties have been thrown throughout Manhattan in neighborhoods such as the E. Village, W. Village, Chelsea, LES, Chinatown, Times Square, Alphabet City, and the UES; and in Brooklyn and Queens in Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Clinton Hill, Park Slope, Red Hook, Bed-Stuy, Bushwick, LIC, and Astoria. Now, Long Island has even gotten into the mix. We are available for weekly, monthly or private events. We have reasonable hourly rates and package deals.
