Having never seen a massage therapist before, I was a bit nervous, and unsure what to expect. Karl was both professional and gracious - checking in throughout the session to make sure that I was comfortable. The work itself was also amazing - I walked out the most relaxed I have been in years. He worked out tension which I hadn't even realized was there. A++Aug 5, 2017Verified
I had my first massage with Karl at my favorite high-end spa a few years ago. He immediately became my favorite therapist. His empathetic nature comes through in both his demeanor and technique, leaving a feeling of complete calm and comfort. Highly recommend.Jul 16, 2020
I have had a lot of massages in my life and Karl is by far one of the most gifted. He has the very unique ability to find what needs work and healing in my body without having to tell him. I have been recovering from physical health issues over the last 10 months and his massages have been healing for my mental and physical health. He has the intuitive sense in knowing when to really work through painful areas and when they need more light touch. I have already recommended him to multiple friends. I am extremely picky about my massages - don't hesitate to book a session with him.Jul 14, 2020Verified
Where do I even begin...this may possibly be the best massage I have had. Karl is just amazing. He is really tuned into what my body needed. Most deep tissue massages are painful and leave you sore for a week. His technique is effective, but gentle. He knows how to focus on problem areas with strength without rubbing a whole in your skin. I am not easily impressed, but he is worth every minute and every penny. Thank you Karl. I can't wait to hire you again!Aug 28, 2017Verified
When I first met Karl I loved his professionalism and sense of humor. He encourages you to breath into spots and always adjusts pressure and even technique by asking you how things are going. I love it when we go from focusing on an area (e.g., shoulders) with "deep tissue" and he then elegantly moves into myofascial work. Karl is not just a skilled therapist, he knows nuance which not only takes experience but attunement only great therapists have. It is RARE for me to slip into parasympathetic relaxation during any kind of bodywork, but with Karl I have during most sessions!Jul 16, 2020
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like to do an in-depth intake with a new client, i generally like to ask how long has it been since their last massage session, what is their occupation, if they play any sports or engage in any strenuous physical activities etc. This helps to give me an idea as to what is going on in the clients body and what stresses they place on themselves on a daily basis It helps me to further develop a treatment plan and discern which techniques would be appropriate and which techniques might not be.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have trained at the Swedish institute college of health sciences, fulfilling a required 1200 hours of training for a duration of 16 months. There i learned a wide array of subjects involving anatomy, neurology, pathology, business and professional development, eastern modalities of massage, and first aid and CPR.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?i started giving massages to my friends in junior high school and found it to be very rewarding to help my friends relax and feel better, I continued to give massage throughout high school where a large majority of my friends kept suggesting i go to school for it. I listened and it was an amazing and rewarding decision!
