Wayne is a wonderful teacher. He has the patience of a saint for my 9 year old who has ADHD. My son enjoys learning the bass and is always excited for class. I recommend to anyone wanting to learn the bass. He’s very punctual and thorough. He has weekly classes and is always learning something new. My husband and I could not be any happier!Mar 20, 2018Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I charge $65/Hr for a Skype or FaceTime bass lesson and $75/Hr for a private lesson at your home. If you take the lesson and then refer me to another musician who takes a lesson I will give you a 50% discount on your next lesson!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I ask for a brief history of his/her musical experience what kind of music they are interested in. I then ask them to play something they are comfortable with so I can listen for their sense of time, listen to the sound they produce, look at their technique, whether they play in tune. I listen and watch to how they play their scales to assess how strong their system for playings scales is, to see whether they have a system or not. I’m basically listening to hear if their fundamentals are in place and we go to work from there.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have played and continue to play in jazz duo, trios quartets, quintets, Jazz Big Bands, Classical Orchestras, Pop, Rock, Reggae, Folk, Country and Blues bands. Playing completely improvised music to music that is completely written out and sight read. I have recorded over fifty studio albums and toured the world playing in most of the major cities of the world. I have played a lot of Church music traditional and modern for over 20 years. I have studied in England and the United States for Undergrad Degrees and Masters of Music Programs. These experiences of study, practice, reading, playing by ear, writing, learning and memorizing music, recording studio experience and traveling the world touring have given me the tools to teach anything relating to professional bass playing.
