Introduction: My understanding of rhythm is very deep, from the most basic to the most subtle. I am a musical drummer, not a technical machine. I have a music degree but I leave it at home when I settle in to create music. Because it's not a science, it's a language. I will steep you in this language of rhythm no matter your experience, age, or background. I love doing something outside the digital world, something with my hands and feet that touches the primal core inside all of us. I want you to experience that.

I'm an older musician who hired Marco to help me develop jazz skills in the tradition of bebop. I could not have been luckier in finding Marco. First off, and differently than most instructors I've worked with, Marco stayed very concerned with what exactly I was looking for (specific techniques on specific drums), but also with my more general goal - which was to develop my skills to the point I am confident to take the stage w/unknown musicians playing unknown tunes. He loaded my Ipod with bebop essentials, and best of all, something I did not even know to request, he insisted on helping me develop my brushwork, which has already paid in ways I never anticipated!! As far as criticism? His personal dedication to his craft bled into the lessons to the point things could become uncomfortable (I'm in my mid 50's - my personal music career rides in the back seat; my family and my job are up front). But how bad is it to have a teacher that seems to eat/drink/sleep his craft?!

Marco was very patient with me when teaching me the drums for the first time. I was definitely hesitant trying a new instrument but he has a lot of experience in both drums and piano and was able to help me read music and actually hold the sticks properly! I recommend him if you are thinking about learning the drums!

Marco is a great drummer and a great teacher! His extensive knowledge of rhythm as well as melody, harmony and form make him the ideal teacher for drummers of any skill level. He has taught me so much and continues to play a huge role in shaping me into the successful musician I am today.

Ive had many hours of enlightening conversation with Marco about music. He has helped me to re-shape my musical paradigm many times. He has helped me to expand my rhythmic, harmonic and melodic vocabulary. He has also shared with me some fascinating rhythmic concepts that have helped me to feel more confident in my exploration of rhythm. I would recommend his expertise to any serious student of jazz and percussion.

This dude is amazing, he's crazy talented with the drums and has a lot of patience with kids. My 9 year old son has been going to him through out the summer time and he as been teaching him the basics of drumming (of course). He even started teaching my son how to read music. He is reasonably priced, his spot is a little small and dark but hey it works. When you meet him tell him to play a little something he'll definitely impress you!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge a higher rate for travel to your home and a lower rate for lessons held at my studio. I offer more value for bundle packages. In other words, the more lessons you pay for up front, the less each lesson costs. You may contact me to reschedule, and I will always do my best to accommodate you. However you must give 3 days notice if you wish to receive a makeup lesson. If I do not receive 3 days notice, I reserve the right to charge you without giving you a lesson.
