Introduction: Samantha Cortez-Primo presents Shooting Shadows.
Samantha Cortez-Primo is a photographer and graphic artist born and raised in, Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. For the past eight years she has been investigating "imaginative documentary" photography; exploring her own cognitive processes concerned with the physical and psychological impressions conceived by the perceptible world. With her history as a spoken word poet, theatrical training as a youth theatre actor with The Creative Arts Team, and educational background in graphic communications from New York City College of technology; Samantha composes her photographs with a poetic esthetic that encompasses techniques from romanticism, performance art and graphic design principles.
"Photography has provided me with an opportunity of grandeur, a method to capture the impulse of a moment and encapsulate its spirit in visual form. Individual experience shapes the perception of the world, and everything is not always what it seems. Sensitivity to the moment, as a whole, is heightened, making the contours and sharpness of my subject less important. I focus my lens on the essence of an isolated moment, turning my subjects into expressions of obscurity as I use soft focus to evoke genuine emotion. I call this method, shooting shadows."

I went on a family trip to NYC and I met up with Samantha to discuss a possible photo shoot for my daughter who is an aspiring model. She quickly went to work with putting together ideas that will make my daughters photo session worth wild
.and SHE DID! Samantha was very accommodating in scheduling the photo shoot the next day, due to our short visit to NYC.
Samantha was very professional, enthusiastic, and I loved how passionate she was about her work. She did an exceptional job with the photos. She made it easy with helping my daughter pose and model for the camera. She has a natural talent for finding great shots and angles, and made my daughter feel very comfortable. The final product came out phenomenal! I was definitely happy (and my daughter as well) with the results.
If youre looking for a photographer, no need to look any further. Her talent shows through the photos she takes. Her creativity to capture the story of the picture, tells a lot about her passion for photography. I highly recommend Samantha Cortez-Primo.

My experience working with Samantha Cortez-Primo felt very professional, she knew what she was doing, and gave me great directions on how I should pose and what would look best. She took her time and overall I was very pleased with the outcome of the photos.

My Experience with Samantha's photography was one of the best. Most professional at her work. Everything is set and ready before the photo shoot; make up artist, wardrobe, etc. She also provide refreshments for her clients. Friendly atmosphere and professional service is guguaranteed.
