Benjamin Furman Piano and Music Lessons

Introduction: I provide private music lessons for all ages and levels in NYC. I teach Piano, Composition and Music Theory. I graduated from Berklee College of Music, and have been teaching private lessons for over 6 years. I'm an international recording and touring performer. My music skill level is advanced in Jazz, Popular music, Classical and Children's music. I've been taught by great private teachers, inlcuding the great educators at Berklee College of Music as well as others throughout my entire life. From that vast experience I've developed the ability to provide a methodology that is very personalized to the interests, goals and taste that resonate with each student, while covering the essentials of the style in question. I've been studying music all my life. I deeply believe that if taught correctly (from a place of celebration, love, passion, and hard work), music can uplift the life of the student in various ways. Music helped me greatly in my childhood, opening my mind to new ways of understanding not just sounds, but thoughts and expressions as well. Music is wonderful, of course, but it doesn't stop there... it will help many other aspects of your life. I am passionate about finding creative ways of reaching each student's interests and goals.
