FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The Junior Scholars , African American Studies Program, is entirely the reason for my passion in film. It’s been 11 years of experience working with film and participating actively till this day. I’ve always had a love for it and the Junior Scholars Program introduced me to a former mentor of mine that assisted me with a lot of freelance work. I’ve interned at NBC studios and even had the chance to edit my FIRST music video there. After leaving the program due to my graduation period in HS, I went on to direct many more music videos and short films.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was enrolled into a program at a young age in Harlem,NY. They had a bunch of extracurricular activities and video production was the one I fell in love with. I went on to be mentored by the great Osato Dixon for a few years till it was time for me to go to college and expand on my skills.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Most recent project was working on The Douglaston Story Project. A community based program in the city of NY dedicated to the people telling their own personal stories that may provide a valuable lesson to someone listening. The most interesting apart about the entire event is how well the event went being the first one to start off the year and many more to come. Ms. Lisa was great at planning the entire event and making sure everyone felt more than welcomed to be there. It was definitely a pleasure!
