Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. The first stage in any project is research. All my services include designing and developing a website from start to finish. All web projects start off with mockups and if the site it's large enough the initial phase is designing wireframes (basically a blueprint) and then the mockup which is the design of the site. Once design is final then development starts and the site comes to life live on my server . The final step is to upload it live on the clients server . Services included in web design which are common jobs are design and development, redesign of existing website, responsive design, wordpress and cms. My graphic design services all follow the same process . The first step is hand drawn rough sketches of the design. Then after a concept is chosen it is designed digitally. Some graphic design projects require printing as the final stage. This requires all material to be prepared and brought to a orinter . My graphic design services include logo and corporate identity design, business card design, flyers ,invitations , label design etc .
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. I love designing. Whether it's designing and developing a website or building a brand, I put everything into each project even if it means working through the night to adjust colors to be perfect in a logo or fixing an alignment of a navigation menu. My clients are my top priority and I will respond back and fix any issues asap!
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. It doesn't feel like I am working . I love what I do and it's building a brand and making my clients happy .My job is to create a final product that my clients will love . I enjoy meeting new clients and learning about the different types of businesses out there and love being part of their success .
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. Most clients can't wait to see to the end product but don't understand the process that it takes to get to that final stage. To be a designer/ developer I've come to the conclusion that we try to be perfectionist at everything we do. My projects are my creations and they define if my business will be a success .
Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?
A. I always loved drawing and being creative. When I was younger, I always would draw cartoons and comic strips as part of expressing my creativity. In high school I knew that the computer field was booming and there was a need for designing and development for any business to success . I decided to choose that as my career and enrolled in New York City College Of Technology, learning front-end web design and development and having graphic design as a minor .
Q. Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of.
A. One of my recent projects was designing and developing 3 sites for an interior designer and fine artist Jordan Carlyle . I currently still work on all 3 website doing updates and maintenance. Redesigning 3 sites makes me particularly proud of this project because I extended my knowledge and taught myself new things that I still currently use on other sites. Being a freelancer allows me to re-educate myself on past concepts that I was taught in school.
Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?
A. As far as college no, but I constantly research and look for the new an latest design trends and development languages. The web and design industry is constantly changing and I always have to be up to date on the latest trends in order to be successful and make all my projects the best designed .
