FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The Heartsaver CPR, First Aid, and AED and the Heartsaver Pediatric CPR, First Aid, and AED cost $50. If you can get a group of 3-5 I will drop the price to $45 per person. The BLS for Healthcare Providers is $60 and the American Heart Association (AHA) requires that you purchase the Student Handbooks which cost $15. That makes the total $75. If you can get a group of 3-5 I can drop the price to $55 per person and if you all take the class at the same time then you can also save money by buying one Student Handbook for the group rather than for every individual. Make sure that you keep your Handbook because if the AHA does not make any changes in the next 2 years you will not be required to purchase a new book when it is time for recertification.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a current nursing student and though I do not have a license yet that requires that I complete continuing education credits I have to do a lot of research for my nursing assignments so I stay up to date on different healthcare subjects just through academic exposure. In nursing we are often required to have a minimum of 2-3 academic resources that are no more than 5 years old and we are taught this to stay up to date and maintain academic integrity.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've been working in healthcare for a very long time from clerical office work to surgical tech and now I am about to complete my nursing degree. I just enjoy working in healthcare but I also enjoy working directly with people and patients, and most of all, I enjoy teaching. My long term goals include writing textbooks and becoming a lecturer.
